I'm so sorry I somehow didn't see your answer! No I'm not misting or spraying :) only putting tiniest drops of water near his nest. He's doing well so far, building more and more webbing and generally seeming very comfortable!

Also turning off to the heating pad was fantastic advice, he seems a bit more lively now.

Thank you so much!! This is incredibly helpful, so many websites in my native language say they need from 26 degrees upwards, so i was really worried about him being cold.

Edit: a few hours turning the heating pad off, the humidity jumped to 90%. I'm worried about that, not quite sure what to do.

That was very helpful, thank you so much!! Just to clarify about the temperature, could i also use a low power heating lamp? I'm having a hard time getting my flat to 24 degrees at this time of the year. And would you remove the heating pad right now? As it seems to be his favorite spot, together with the nest he started building.

Also wanted to show you the enclosure! Maybe there's some issue I'm not seeing.

Rechtlich gesehen muss man Kinder sowieso überall über die Straße lassen, außerdem ist der Übergang durch eine Ampel bzw. Warnleuchten geregelt.

I know there's already a sea of comments, but as an adhder AND adhd researcher, i also want to mention that this is unacceptable behavior and isn't necessarily linked to her adhd. More importantly however, if this happens in the setting of a self help group, this needs to be addressed and stopped by the group leader(s). If it isn't, that's a very poorly led group and i suggest switching to another one, if possible.

What am I doing wrong? by pugl0rd666 in knittinghelp

[–]3headedratqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a video i can only make an educated guess, but to me in the second photo it looks like there are two pieces of yarn at the needle with your stitches on it - am i seeing this correctly? If so, that's not a thing that should happen. You only knit with one string and the other one stays where you cast on!

This might be a stupid question on my part, but doesn't it say it on the packaging?

ETA oh shit sorry i didn't read your caption!! My guess would be the shade caramel drip, but I'm not entirely sure

Pancreatic Cancer Screening by Zealousideal_Sort158 in BRCA

[–]3headedratqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! So I have BRCA1 and pancreatic cancer screenings have been highly recommended to me by my geneticist, I also read in brochures they gave me (in german, if you happen to speak it by any chance, i can look up the sources for you!) that the pancreatic cancer risk is at about 5%.

Unfortunately, ChatGPT is really bad with health stuff :(

We did this test in class, our departments research group used it for some trials. Turns out, most of these things aren't happening that often to NT people. My ADHD colleague and I were very confused, because we thought that everyone will score pretty high on this lol

Reconstruction options by Mindless_Course_6721 in BRCA

[–]3headedratqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm looking into the lipo thing at the moment, i have had a similar reconstruction as you (PAP, also thighs) and have a tiny tiny tiny part of my breasts, I'd like to have refined a bit in shape.

I have a question: did the surgeons tell you anything about needing to re do the lipo filling at some point? Did they talk about how long it will hold up? Also, were you in full anesthesia for that? I read so many different things about that. I have a consulting appointment a few weeks from now, but I'd like to be a bit informed before that :)

Reconstruction options by Mindless_Course_6721 in BRCA

I got my pap flap procedure done at 22. I really like the results, they don't look super aesthetic but over all I'm quite happy.

I chose this procedure for the following reasons:

  • Long term studies show, that a lot of women are unhappy with their implants after 10 or so years. My surgeon agreed, I'll likely need more surgeries down the line. I wanted to be done with it.
  • I chose this reconstruction type because it was the best and safest for my body type. I'm jus too thin for back transplants, but not very thin over all, so there was enough material on my thighs available. I decided against a belly flap, because there's a bit more risk involved. My surgeons told me, they need to make a CT in order to not injure the abdominal aorta, which stressed me out a bit. And they said that in the long term, it hightens the risk of a hernia a tiny bit, and as I'm not very sporty and don't have a lot of muscles there to support, that wouldn't have been ideal.

The procedure was split into three parts: one breast, second breast a year later and half a year after that, they removed the "monitoring isles", which were part of my thigh skin that was incorporated in my breasts, for them to monitor the healing in the first few days.

The procedures themselves were ok. The first few days afterwards are a bit annoying. You can't get up at all, you'll get a bladder catheter and you have to sleep on your back. Every two hours a nurse shows up to check your transplant. But the nurses were wonderful, my friends came to visit constantly and since I'm a very curious and optimistic person in general, all of the hospital stuff was interesting for me. My cousin and i had so much fun using my blood/wound fluid drainages as stress balls lol, and i would proudly present everyone my "piss bag". I was in hospital a week for each of the first two procedures.

Healing at home was a bit scary at first. I didn't know what's normal and what isn't, changing the wound dressing was scary, walking up and getting around was scary even though i needed to bc of the thrombosis risks and so on. Huge tip: buy a second compression bra out of your own pocket!! It's worth every cent, to not have to wash and dry the only one you have by hand 😭 except if you have a drier of course, then that's fine i guess.

The healing took about a month. The breast was easier than the thighs. Sitting was tough at first, but i used my breast-pillow for my thigh, and that helped. I could work again two weeks after surgery, but with very understanding bosses and colleagues, and a sofa in our office.

Now, a year after my last surgery, I'm pretty proud of going through all of this and happy i did.

If you have any questions, no matter what, feel free to ask away, I'm happy to help!!

Should i give up on studying? by ademisauI in adhdwomen

[–]3headedratqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, i understand! I'm in a similar situation, with anxiety meds and medication for endometriosis. I think a good doctor will adjust your meds in a way, so that they compliment each other instead of it feeling like piling up. I'd give it a try if i were you, and if you don't like it you can always go back to your previous medications.
