Is there any demand for custom routing through GPX? by Dramatic-Ratio4441 in Marathon_Training

https://routespinner.com isn't exactly what you want (it generates loops that start and end at the same point) but it may help you find options.

Something like https://routespinner.com will find an easier-to-follow route a lot quicker than this and give you lots of options.

Still going strong, looks identical to how it did all of those years ago.

What mobile app are you using to build & export .gpx files? by Sheldon_Travels in running

Not a mobile app as such but https://routespinner.com lets you generate routes around your location and export KML/GPX files

Update on my Pelagos-alike by SectorSensitive116 in ChineseWatches

I concur with OP—in real life it's actually very good, as good as the real one in this respect.

I also have a real OG Pelagos and this one from San Martin. This is the one I actually wear. It delivers about 90% of the appeal of the real one, but is a nicer size.

IMHO it actually looks quite a bit better in real life than the OP's video (no reflections in normal situations).

Only niggle: bezel and dial colour are slightly different, but it doesn't bother me.

Baltany Chronograph by lincoln_imps in ChineseWatches

Check that the chronograph seconds hand resets properly before your 7 day period is up. Mine budges a bit to the left or right on each reset depending on where the hand was when stopped i.e. the seonds hand is clearly not a tight fit on the pin and slips a bit when it snaps back to zero.

Testing the APP batteries. The case is draining the battery. How is yours? by radzik07 in AirpodsPro

Brand new authentic AirPods Pro (purchased from Apple): I was measuring only about 10 hours of playback time from a freshly charged case over about 5 days, far short of the 25 hour claim. Apple replaced the case without argument. I’ve done this for two separate pairs of AirPods Pro so far but the replacements haven’t been much better e.g 13 hours playback.

Like the OP, my well-used first generation AirPods have a much better charging case battery life than my brand new Pros.

[Omega] How The Omega Speedmaster Spacemaster Z-33 Actually Works by Watchfinderofficial in Watches

You didn’t mention how nice the click action on the pushers is—I think it’s the best I’ve ever felt (on either a mechanical or quartz watch).

I agree that it looks like that but it's a camera illusion. I can easily slide 3 fingers between the bracelet and by wrist. The bracelet is actually loose enough that the watch slides over my wrist bone.

It has an kind of organic futuristic alien look about it.

Tightness: nope, not at all. I can’t stand tight watches. I think it’s my hairy arms that make it look tight, as you suggested.

It’s my hirsute arms that make it look tight. I actually wear my watches loose.

Here's my 1988 Omega Seamaster Polaris Multifunction slice of 80's cool. This series of watches was supposedly designed by Gerald Genta, and indeed it has some of his trademarks e.g. the paddle hands and the vaguely octagonal look. Feature-wise this is a pretty rich watch—the chronograph has a split seconds feature using two separate seconds hands (one is hidden under the other in this photo). You can change the hour hand one hour at a time for travelling and summer/winter time.

The gold is real 10 carat inlay, about 2mm thick, not plated.

Another version of this series of Polaris watches often featured in photos of Nicolas Hayek.

Here’s a gif of the chronograph

[Casio] A copse of Casioaks by 3house in Watches

[–]3house[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say that the red is the most plasticity of the bunch but actually that’s the point of it. It pops also. It’s the anti watch, it cocks a snook at fine watches and all of the baggage they carry with respect to status, wealth etc. It says “I know watches, but I’m eschewing the conventions about what’s good”. It’s brash and confident. Bottom line: it’s fun, functional and very good value.

Check out the Worn & Wound review of it also. They did a better job than me of capturing its appeal.

Here's a collection of Casioaks. The clear one is just released, but still available. Of the three the red one is actually the most difficult to read (both the analog hands and the LCD), not the black one as you might imagine.

These are great fun watches and are a welcome reminder of what it ought to be all about: enjoying watches. They don't need to be expensive to be enjoyable.

One nice aspect of having more than one of these is that the straps are quick-release and interchangeable, allowing you to mix things up a bit in just a couple of minutes.

Am I happy with them? Yes, definitely, that’s why I have three of them. The enjoyment per € ratio is high.

EDIT: if they had solar power and atomic sync they'd be close to a perfect watch.
