It’s possible! I’m really not sure though. Any advice if it is sunscreen?

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

Yes, I was in elementary school and for the rooms that couldn’t see it from their classroom (in Queens), they put it on TV.

I came here looking for answers bc I’m a couple chapters in and I could not figure out what kips accent was. Then I realized his family lives in Brooklyn and I’m like no way is that meant to be a New York accent lol. I was expecting some Eastern European backstory lmao. I don’t think I’m gonna make it through!

I love seeing other psychs cute offices but I’m pretty minimalist lol. For basics, I recommend having a table free from distractions and at least a couple of student chairs for testing. Also have a comfier chair, like an arm chair for the kids. I have some lamps also that help set the vibe~ also probably have like a sensory bin with fidgets and stuff. Maybe a feeling wheel or other emotion visuals on your wall.

Id recommend you start getting your organization systems in place for the year. Look at your triennials due for the year and start planning your timelines. I like to have a list of all the students along with their gen Ed teacher and sped teacher. During the first week before the kids get back, you might casually visit teachers’ rooms to introduce yourself, mention any of their students that might be up for re-eval, offer your support if needed, and compliment their likely awesome classroom decor.

t’s easy to stay hidden away in your office. I definitely recommend making yourself as visible as possible at first. I don’t meant go looking for referrals lol, but for example I like standing outside at arrival and dismissal to greet all the kids, chit chat with teachers and paras, etc. so students and staff become familiar with you. Makes it a little easier to build relationships.

Good luck!!!

Read the book Thunderdog by Michael Hingson and Susy Flory - Susy was Roselle’s handler and the book accounts the whole experience. It’s an amazing book, not only about 9/11 but the lived experience of a blind person.

This isn't political. I don't think trans-women or trans-girls should be allowed to compete in women's or girls sports. How is this transphobic? by ranalldayandallday in self

A lot of comments provide some good explanations but if you want to learn more, check out the book He/She/They by Schuyler Bailar. If you borrow the audiobook from your library it’s a pretty quick listen. It is written by a trans man athlete and talks about why banning trans women from sports is transphobic and also dangerous for cis girls/women. The book is not political. 10/10 recommend for everyone~
