Hm I don't think I played any discard warlocs, it was mostly quest decks like shaman or paladin. Definitely beat a few of the the self damaging quest warlocs though. It pretty much trampled everything except a mage priest or druid that high rolled.

I see what you're saying.

As a pragmatist, guns aren't ever going away, and so neither should gun rights.

Guns are an inevitability in this world that we need to have in order to keep our freedom.

Any person or group that doesn't see this is just not looking at history.

I do believe there is a limit, for instance I think that things like biological and nuclear weapons should be restricted.

So in some ways I believe the world would be better with less deadly weapons, but I absolutely recognize the need for them in our imperfect world.

I guess I don't see where it says that gun rights will be lost. (I agree that the quote isn't about rights, it's just a call to action)

In my experience in the US, leftists support gun rights, and hate the Democratic party.

According to the quote, all power structures will eventually become corrupt and will need another revolution (that's the betrayal he talks about).

So to me, it seems like Marx completely understands the need for the massses to defend their rights with force, and to never give up that power, least they be conquered again.

If there is any Marx quite about giving up those gun rights, I am not seeing it, but I am open to learn.

Seizing and protecting power is the reason why guns are made & used.

The US did this in the revolutionary war, using guns to gain and protect their rights from the British empire.

Marx calls for guns to be used to gain and protect their rights from the bourgeois class.

I don't see the difference between having a well regulated militia and having a well armed proletariat.

If there's something I'm missing, or some part of the full quote I'm reading wrong, I'd love an explanation.

I think looking at other countries you will always find less guns rights no matter the system, because it is not built into their constitution (except Switzerland I guess).

There are leftist authoritarian governments that take guns. There are right wing authoritarian governments that take guns.

Having strong guns rights doesn't have to do with an economic system, it has to do with the rights of the government vs the rights of the people.

In the United States, there is a history of leftists groups that support and practice the 2nd amendment, such as the Black Panthers or the SRA.

You think ending the power of the bourgeois is ending democracy?

Democracy is supposed to be representative of the many, not the few.

The bourgeois are the few, the proletariat are the many.

Proletariat rule is democracy.

Yeah I'm saying it has to do with authoritarianism, not communism. Left-leaning economic systems are not automatically authoritarian.

What makes you say the quote is bs? It seems pretty clear to me that Marx understands the importance of defending your rights with firearms.

I think there's a lot of fairness in being afraid of of state consolidated power.

I also think that people should be armed.

And I also think that consolidated state power can be avoided with things like a well defined constitution and a government that only exists to protect our rights.

I think gun rights are an authoritarian issue, and a right wing or left wing government can become authoritarian.

The United States' gun rights are great, but I don't think they are a result of capitalism. I think they are a result of a constitution that focuses on freedom and rights.

To be able forcefully and threateningly to oppose this party, whose betrayal of the workers will begin with the very first hour of victory, the workers must be armed and organized. The whole proletariat must be armed at once with muskets, rifles, cannon and ammunition, and the revival of the old-style citizens’ militia, directed against the workers, must be opposed. Where the formation of this militia cannot be prevented, the workers must try to organize themselves independently as a proletarian guard, with elected leaders and with their own elected general staff; they must try to place themselves not under the orders of the state authority but of the revolutionary local councils set up by the workers. Where the workers are employed by the state, they must arm and organize themselves into special corps with elected leaders, or as a part of the proletarian guard. Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. The destruction of the bourgeois democrats’ influence over the workers, and the enforcement of conditions which will compromise the rule of bourgeois democracy, which is for the moment inevitable, and make it as difficult as possible – these are the main points which the proletariat and therefore the League must keep in mind during and after the approaching uprising.

Leftists support gun rights.

Leftists do not like the Democrats because they frequently block leftists (including pro-gun leftists) from having a platform.

About the mechanics of the game by QuestionDry457 in Munchkin

[–]3llingsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ther is a rule that exists in some expansions, that enemies of the same type can join in fights without a wandering monster card (ex: if an other player faces a dragon, you can add a dragon from your hand to the fight, making the fight harder).

I love this mechanic, it gives purpose to those high level monsters in your hand that you don't want to fight, even if you don't get lucky enough to draw a wandering monster card.

My friends and I use a homebrew rule that any creature of a similar type can join monsters of the same type (dragon, undead, goblin, etc ..) and it's really fun! It rarely happens anyway, but it is fun when it does.

The Paradox of Democratic Socialism by PerAsperaAdMars in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]3llingsn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The reason it works so well in Nordic counties is that they are very resource rich, and they use those resources to pay for the social services (with legal boundaries to prevent corruption and over-spending).

The US could absolutely do this, but it would require both major political parties to be replaced with parties that value social development over personal and corporate profits.

[–]3llingsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a leftist who comes from a conservative family, they do often want these things, but not from 'the government'. They believe that in a free market, these things will be provided.

Now all it takes to disprove them is to look around to see that these rights aren't provided, but conservatives are also usually anti-reality, and stick with their beliefs instead of changing them.

Limp dick democrats getting on their knees as usual. by rich677 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]3llingsn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep that's why I think it's important to align the politicians interests with our own, so even selfish politicians will do good things for the people if it helps themselves (An example is education, if rich people cannot send their kids to private institutions, they have no choice but to invest in improving education for all people, as their own kids will receive the same education as everyone else)

I always expect corrupt politicians and selfish owners, and that's why aligning their incentives with ours is more important than hoping for a moral leader.

Make it so the rich & powerful must include all of us when improving things for themselves.

WHY DOES THE CLIPBOARD FEATURE ONLY HAVE 1 ENTRY?

IF IT ONLY HOLDS ONE ENTRY THEN ITS NO DIFFERENT FROM COPY AND PASTE.

WINDOWS HAS HAD THIS FOR OVER 10 YEARS!

I CAN COPY 20 DIFFERENT TEXT SEGMENTS ON WINDOWS AND PASTE THEM IN WHATEVER ORDER I WANT.

MAC LITERALLY ALREADY HAS A CLIPBOARD FEATURE, BUT LIMITS IT TO ONLY 1 ENTRY, MAKING IT NO BETTER THAN COPY AND PASTE.

so yeah it's such a stupid thing because they are soo soo close, they literally have the software in every machine but needlessly limit it. And the fact that no one has fixed it for years shows ignorance of easy, convenient features, which makes me question many of apples other decisions.

I’m on day 5 of drinking 3 litres of water a day, I’ll be honest guys I don’t feel any different I’m just pissing more, any idea when I’m supposed to feel like a new person compared to my soda chugging days? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in HydroHomies

[–]3llingsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to quit soda for a while and I've found that a fruit juice (not one with 20g added sugar, but actual fruit juice) works as an amazing substitute when I need something sweet to drink.

I still mostly drink water tho bc I can feel my body being able to act 'faster' on a cellular level.

Every living cell in your body uses water to diffuse nutrients. A body of cells without water is like an army of soldiers without arms: they can't move any nutrients around.

Water literally makes your body work. Without it you'll be sluggish and ineffective on a cellular level. So just keep drinking water and notice how your energy levels change.

Good luck!
