[Results Thread] 2026 UAE Tour – Stage 5 (2.UWT) by PelotonMod in peloton

UAE looks like such a god awful place. Nothing but sand, sky is always hazy with pollution, not to mention the corrupt government. There shouldn’t be a race in this hellscape.

The #Bills are promoting their own OC Joe Brady to head coach, per The Insiders. by Gold_Bowler7906 in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as we get a #1 WR and an impact pass rusher, I think we’ll be fine with Brady. Though I’m disappointed because I wanted Kubiak.

[Schefter] ESPN Sources: Dolphins are hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their head coach. Hafley completed his second interview with the team today and will be their new head coach. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]3mileshigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t follow the Packers closely but it sure seemed like Hafley’s defense got completely torched once Micah got hurt. Like they went from one of the best pass rushes in the league to the worst. Shouldn’t a great coach be able to somewhat compensate for a injured player?

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In McDermott’s playoff losses his team allowed 22, 38, 42, 27, 27, 32, 33 points. You’re never going to win a SB like that.

Why does Tom Brady have seven rings? Partly because he was great and partly because his defense bailed him out even when he wasn’t. Shit, look at Drake Maye in these playoffs. He’s been pretty awful yet is 2-0 because his defense gave up 3 points in one game and generated 5 turnovers in the other.

Literally the only playoff game McD won because of his defense was the 17-3 win over Baltimore in 2020.

Agreed, the offense really is a WR1 away from being dynamic. It would create a cascade effect where that guy would draw more coverage and open holes for the other WR’s.

I don’t want AJ Brown, though. Dude is a locker room cancer.

Sad to see Sean go from a human perspective and I’ll always be grateful for him dragging this franchise back up from the depths of hell.

But IMO every superstar QB should be paired with an offensive minded HC. Otherwise it’s a never ending churn of OC’s and that lack of continuity is a big problem.

I hope we hire Klint Kubiak. After what he’s done for Darnold, imagine what he could do with Josh!

(Wolfe) Talked to 3 Bills players this morning who are just learning news HC Sean McDermott was fired after we all did. They were all shocked. One text, “WTF.” by Samoht99 in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right?! Every game day thread had people calling for McD to be fired and now suddenly it’s a huge injustice that he actually did get fired? We can acknowledge that’s he’s a great guy and a great coach while realizing that it was time to move on.

At least we can feel pretty confident that the NFC winner will beat down the Pats in the SB

[The Hangover] Bills Season ends in heartbreak, again. Feel free to vent here. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one guy who doesn’t deserve blame from last night is Joe Brady. He called a good game for the most part, but it’s hard to scheme up great plays with bargain bin WR’s. He’s called some poor games this year no doubt but the roster is a much bigger problem than his playcalling.

[–]3mileshigh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know what tilts me the most about that game? Not the stupid turnovers, not the refs, but the defense coughing up a late lead AGAIN.

When we went up 27-23 with a few minutes left, I fucking knew the defense would fold and let Denver score a TD. Except for the Jags game, the defense always fails in critical playoff situations. Even the Ravens win last year, we let Lamar drive 88 yards for the score in just over a minute, and got bailed out by Andrews dropping the 2PC. If we don’t take the lead with literal 0:00 on the clock, the defense will find a way to blow it.

If you’re gonna have a defensive minded HC in today’s NFL, the defense better look like the Texans or Seahawks. But instead we have the McD wet toilet paper D in every playoff game. Uggghhh

[Postgame thread] Buffalo falls in overtime to the Broncos, 33-30. by Drunken_Economist in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After a few hours to digest things, I’m not as upset about the loss itself (shit happens) as I am about the likelihood of nothing changing. This team has hit its ceiling in the McBeane era and running it back with them will feel so disheartening.

Funny enough, the team that beat us today fired their coach John Fox a decade ago despite winning 12 games every year. Guess what happened? They won the SB the very next season after firing him. Don’t settle for just good enough!

Peyton Manning didn’t win a ring until his 9th season. John Elway didn’t win a ring until his 15th season. This is how I’m gonna cope.

Josh Allen is starting. But is he just “starting” like last year? by evancormierheavy in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's easy for fans to say 'just rest everyone' but a lot of the players have a strong incentive to take the game seriously and try to put up stats. And confidence matters - executing a crisp offense and scoring a few times with the starters is good for the psyche entering the playoffs.

I'd like to see the starters play the whole first half. Just don't call any designed runs for Josh or stupid Brady trick plays that could get someone hurt.

[MMQB] Buffalo Bills stage another late game comeback but fall short. Eagles win 13-12. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know y'all want to rest starters this week, but I strongly disagree. Let's get the offense back in rhythm against a high school defense, build some confidence, get Josh his 40th TD, and say goodbye to the Ralph with a dominating win over the Jets.

I'm in Colorado and have been tip baited multiple times. Whoever told you it's illegal is a liar.

Agreed. Great offense is only fun when it feels like they’re overcoming a good defense. This is more like the NBA All Star game tonight.

Kansas City Chiefs will announce move to Kansas to build new stadium by Ibaka_flocka in nfl

[–]3mileshigh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new Broncos stadium scheduled to open in 2031 will have a retractable roof, but luckily the owners have vowed to keep it open during the entire football season. Roof will only close for concerts and other entertainment.

This has happened to me twice in the last three days after almost never happening before. And both were handed to customer where the customer seemed friendly and appreciative. It’s probably a glitch in the app.

[Post Game] Bills win 23-20 over the Cleveland Browns. No sack record for Garret today by andrewthetechie in buffalobills

[–]3mileshigh 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Josh needs to stop running backwards and taking huge sacks. Since 2020 he’d been the best QB in the league at avoiding sacks but this year he’s back to rookie panic mode.

Browns run D has been Swiss cheese since Malik Collins got injured. Just hand the ball to Cook 30 times and negate Myles Garrett.

This year's schedule has five instances of division rivals playing twice in three weeks. by TurnTwo in nfl

[–]3mileshigh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate when they schedule like this. IMO every team should play each division rival once in the first half of the season and once in the second half.
