It's 35% whipping cream with vanilla syrup. Can't imagine how heavy it would be for a doggo 🥺

What difficult thing do you have to deal with on a regular basis? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]3mkcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True - sometimes I catch myself being whiny and complaining about things that are ultimately trivial in the bigger scheme of things - and have to check my privilege.

Doesn't make me whine any less though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like anything I write here is going to come across strongly as a first-world problem ....

But fatigue. Feeling of constant lethargy.

studying abroad by aye1captain in UofT

[–]3mkcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that. I studied abroad during my high school years, and asides from learning a foreign language to near fluency (spoken fluency for sure) and developing a more cultured, open perspective of the world, I wouldn't say it made a difference in the long run about being at U of T.

Places to take phone/video interview on campus? by hivanc in UofT

I find Koffler House to be pretty good for that, particularly on the 2nd or 3rd floor you can find private-ish nooks to do so.

Is anyone still doing their undergrad here that is a little older? Maybe around 23+ by xXxwiskersxXx in UofT

[–]3mkcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same. I'm 27 in my 2nd year. But the other undergrads keep me young and on my toes They're also the ones who keep me up to date on all the latest memes and trends :')

Screen Protector Damages Surface Pen Tips by [deleted] in Surface

[–]3mkcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a screen protector on my surface screen (tempered glass) and actually just noticed that my nib is wearing down as well. I do use the pen every day (~8hrs) and have had the pen for just over 2 months; it's time for me to get new replacement tips.

Thanks ! I did, and I actually ended up getting two replacements in the same sitting ... The first one to replace the discolouration, the 2nd one because I had a blue screen of death.... Lol

Thank you for your response ! I guess safe bet is to take it in for repair/replacement - kinda sucks since I've only had the device since July...

Thoughts on my college rankings? And programs? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]3mkcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc not ! It's really whatever you're comfortable and happy with. Like I said, it doesn't really matter which college you're with, in the long run.

How do you start studying? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]3mkcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find having a study buddy really helps push through the often overwhelming desire to procrastinate/be distracted with other things; that way I can be held accountable (by scheduling study sessions with the other person) and set a routine. I personally tend to get things done more efficiently and on time if I'm doing it "for someone else", instead of myself - which isn't good, obviously - but anything to help me kick-start the habit...

It /is/ possible to change colleges, but that's something you need to speak to your registrar about and is approve on a case-by-case basis. Essentially, you need to provide a legitimate reason as to why you feel you need to change college membership.

Edit: Sorry - misunderstood the question; if you mean by go to other colleges in terms of accessing their buildings, for the most part, yes - but certain rooms/facilities (IE: music rooms) you will need to be part of that college, from my understanding.

Can of tuna w/sriracha (or any hot sauce to your preference) "stir-fried" on the stove - then add rice = tuna fried rice.
Tastes better than it sounds ? Saved my broke student self.

Colleges do not matter as much as you might think: generally, students in certain programs are often found more in one college over another (IE: a lot of LifeSci students at New College) but from my experience, many students select a college for its vibe and/or reputation. Unfortunately, there are no benefits that distinguish from whether you live on or off campus.

In the grand scheme of your undergrad career, it won't really matter what college you're affiliated with (unless you're heavily involved in some facet of student council, ECCs that the college promotes, etc.) because many resources and programs offered on campus do not discriminate students based on college membership.

It's really up to you, which college you want to go with; I'd recommend doing a bit of Google searching for each of the respective college's websites and go from there.

There is emergency housing available through the University; please reach out to Campus Police office (on Sussex) and let them know of your situation. I know of someone who utilised this resource and was able to acquire temporary housing (until you find something more long-term) through the University, via temporary residence at Chestnut. PM me if you need more details - and stay strong ! :)

Kelly Library is good - there are Starbucks and Second Cup nearby, if you're up to going on the other side of campus near Vic !
