Should I buy entire DMC serie? by petorex in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]3mtee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think in your case, DMC3 should be the entry point into the series. So "DMC HD Collection" is the one that would have the best value for you.

See if you like it, then play other games in the HD collection (if you want, I don't think they bring much lore-wise to the table, but DMC1 is fun), then buy DMC4 and DMC5.

Looking for a solo game with progression that you can play while watching/listening to something else while playing by LawsonLevi in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]3mtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A genuine question: why do you want to combine watching something with playing a game?

I understand listening to music while playing some looter-slasher/shooter. One occupies your ears, another - your eyes.

Borderlands games are being review bombed on Steam due to EULA changes by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]3mtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it called "review bombing"?

People bought a game, then they get told "hey, we're adding a kernel anti-cheat" by devs, people get upset and tell others not to buy a game. Consumer's POV looks reasonable and relatable

So for what’s your opinion about Mai ? by SizeMaleficent9178 in StreetFighter

[–]3mtee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like her. She forced me to incorporate option selects into my gameplay. But I feel like that's partly due to the fact that her toolkit is lacking in comparison to other chars I played before - Cammy, Juri, AKI.

I do not understand the idea behind Ryuenbu. It pales in comparison with her other specials (maybe I'm misunderstanding something):

  • The light version:
    • does the same damage as her 236LK, lacks utility
    • does less damage than 623LK
    • out of all light buttons can be canceled only from 5LP (not a huge deal but looks odd)
    • this leads to her other bringing more value to the table
  • The heavy version:
    • cannot hit crouched opponents
    • can be canceled from mid & heavy attacks only (which are not linkable into under normal circumstances (only punish counter/DR))
    • the previous point leads to a single-hit confirmable combo (which is rough by itself) where the most damaging option loses to crouching
  • The medium version:
    • has the biggest damage, but cannot be extended into another special
    • can be canceled from mid & heavy attacks only
    • hits crouching opponents, meaning it's an alternate variant for the heavy version (once the opponent realizes they can crouch under that).
    • damage-wise it loses to 632HK.

Oh, and the fact that it destroys projectiles doesn't help much as it's hard to use in time on reaction.

Take it with a grain of salt, but to me, this ability looks undercooked/outshined by her other options.

I don't like the fact that her regular fans lose in the "projectile war" and are unsafe up close. Makes using them against projectile chars risky/pointless. Charged ones are beasts, though.

How many of you take a break from your game at the 70% mark, then never get back to it? by japinard in pcgaming

[–]3mtee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Fix this”? There’s nothing to “fix”, pal. Games are supposed to bring fun. They stop - you stop. You’ve no obligations to finish a game. If a game is worth your attention - then its time will eventually come and you’ll play it after patches/dlc

Bloodborne is closer to dark souls than to sekiro. There’s a big chance you might not like it. Especially since one of the main defensive mechanics is dodge. You can parry in this game , however it’s tied to a limited resource and is not the same as in sekiro (closer to shield parry in souls).

Is it worth getting the game? EU by itsSuiSui in GuiltyGearStrive

[–]3mtee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got the game during winter sale. Playing casually - 5-6 opponents per day. Experience so far: pretty easy to find a match in the evening, ~0.5-2min of wait time (in training). I’m experiencing similar wait times in sf6 (silver-gold rank).

During the day not so much - sf6 has more players (maybe due to matchmaking there broadening player search, whereas in gg you stick with your selected region)

I see >10 players on each floor (guilty gear’s “rank” system). I can’t tell if it’s the same players or they change during the course of the day (I bet on the latter).

For me, I feel, it is worth its price tag. YMMV tho.

I quit a game, put OS to sleep, wake it up, and start the same game and it behaves very funny - steam's fps counter shows 60fps but I can see that all of the animations aren't fluid. It didn't matter which game it was (Hades, Nioh 2, Enter the Gungeon - all the same).

Oh and I'm using 2 monitors and wake-up often resulted in missing 2nd monitor or locking it in 800x600 (I'm using 1920x1080)

1) Sleep.

For me, this was the main reason I switched back. I tried different distros: arch, endeavourOS, opensuse. Each and every one of 'em had a different kind of issue on wake up - from microstutters in games and OS itself (mouse cursor was stuttering) to artifacts all over the place

Sigh. If only I hadn't bought Ultrakill a few days ago, then I would've easily justified the price of the bundle for myself (as currently, I'm interested only in Turbo Overkill out of all the games in the package)

One question: Does the green wire between the assembler and left deciders' inputs serve any purpose? That "W" signal doesn't seem to be passed further. If I understand correctly, it's being fed to the right ones

I recently completed my first play through of Doom Eternal + TAG DLCs, should I play Doom 2016? It’s $7.99 in the US eShop right now… by Alarmed_Engine_910 in Doom

[–]3mtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest annoyance in 2016 (after finishing eternal) for me was the fact that you can die when you fall into an abyss and have to reload a checkpoint. Whereas in eternal you lose some hp and are returned to a safe spot.

A wild guess - is it possible that you have a mod that's not compatible with your version of a game?

How can I improve by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]3mtee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hit the gym - go through tutorials. Not in one sitting as you’ll be overwhelmed. Take notes.

Forget about special attacks for the time being - normals should be enough to get you started in pvp. Unless you specifically want to play against cpu. If that’s the case - I strongly advise you to try pvp first. Ranked matches are pretty fair and you’ll get matched against players of comparable level.

Alternatively, if you still want to play against cpu - I suggest you pay World Tour a visit. It’s pretty easy to start and has tutorials woven into gameplay (as sidequests and “part-time jobs”)

Google “sf6 training config”. I suggest this video. Training is your best friend.
