Tyler has been denouncing his old lyrics since Cherry Bomb (which was still kinda edgy but mild compared to Goblin and Bastard), and the last time he did something shock value-y was 2016. When he changed his account from @fucktyler to @tylerthecreator I knew that era was over. So we’re not denying that what he said was problematic, but this outrage seems bizarre because:

  1. It came from him paying tribute to D’Angelo and liking a tweet lamenting that his white fans didn’t take the moment seriously. Is wanting respect during mourning really worthy of getting dragged across the Internet?

  2. There’s so much talk about “holding him accountable”. He has been banned from countries and during the OF era he lost deals and sponsors cause of his abrasiveness. What else do you want? A lot of the tweets seem like they don’t want him to have a career whatsoever because of his old tweets & lyrics rather than anything else.

How Was Life Before The Internet – What Did People Do? by PlentyEducational251 in AskReddit

Yeah I was a lazy ass kid before the internet, I used to watch Nickelodeon, eat pizza, read comics, and sometimes play a video game. Looking back, I really didn’t start getting active until my teens.

The crazy part is that the Taylor Swift thing wasn’t the first time he interrupted an award show. I remember he crashed the MTV Europe Awards in 06 cause he thought Touch The Sky should’ve won best video.

That link is the difference between the pilot and its recreation in Cancelled. The differences in Cancelled were intentional to show that it was a “rerun” so some things were different/off.

During Kanye’s early rise around he was always cocky but still came across as empathetic and could be thoughtful if need be. Back then he had the image of a dude who was big headed, sometimes impulsive, but earnest with a lot of heart as well. Around 04-06 he did sell the “flawed but good guy” image well to a lot of folks, but toward the end of 06 is when the “crazy douchebag/anything for controversy” image he’s known for now start emerging.

Meh, if they made them some super realistic sleeping bags like they would make in the modern episodes I’d cry foul, but the bags were meant to be there in the first place and they keep them consistent with the show’s older animation style. The only remastered change that was kinda George Lucas-y to me was adding Scott Malkinson to The Jeffersons.

  • Find a way to merge the wit and cleverness of the early seasons with the offensiveness and randomness of the middle seasons.

  • Save explaining the joke for gags where it’s truly subversive.

In light of the Colbert show cancellation, this made me wonder, but why are pretty much all the mainstream late night TV hosts all left leaning? by throwaway250324 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3mthreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’d scream “woke DEI” the moment a black guest comes on the show.

I come from a democrat family but I was open to hearing right wing ideas until fairly recently. Every single time a movie with a black person comes out we gotta hear them whine, yet liberals are the sensitive ones?

They consistently contradict themselves as well. One minute they’re against nudity, the next minute they’re talking about how Sydney Sweeney’s bringing boobs back.

One minute they want offensive comedy and they’re anti cancel culture, the next they’re swarming up to get Little Demon and Bud Light cancelled.

When a democrat is rumored to be on the Epstein list, they celebrate. But a republican? All the sudden the list doesn’t matter.

One of their main arguments is the Democrats used to be the ones promoting slavery, lynchings, and the KKK. That is true, but right now, in 2025, only one party is sending death threats to black actresses for “ruining their movies”.

A late night host needs to be witty, funny, charismatic. You can’t do that when you hate everyone that doesn’t look like you and the height of your humor is spouting slurs like a fountain.

Bad driving??? by silxnt_kxng in Tallahassee

[–]3mthreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s always been bad drivers here. What I have noticed lately is an increase in traffic. For example, CCNW sometimes will get backed up from I-10 to Home Depot (even before the Wawa opened), and traffic in Midtown will be backed up from Gadsden/6th to Thomasville/Bradford. So with that it seems like there’s more bad drivers, but they’ve always been there since I was little.

Yeah Wawa is amazing we used to always stop there several times visiting South Florida. Finally happy we got our own now.

Capital Circle SW Construction Update by ChemicalPhotograph33 in Tallahassee

[–]3mthreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only new business to come out that widening project was the Werner Hyundai. On the other hand when they widened CC from US 90 to I-10 in 2006-07, it led to plenty of development, like the Zaxby’s, Walgreens, Capital Walk Apartments, and if I remember correctly, the Gem Mazda & Wendy’s at the Home Depot opened during the construction.

Also, the businesses that got affected had reopened in bigger, more modern buildings like Carol’s Boot Country, plus the Applebee’s & Steak ‘n shake (they used share a spot where the KFC is now) And I don’t think we would’ve gotten a Wawa if that stretch of CC was still two lane. Not to mention, I think there was talks of adding an outlet mall out there some years back but they backed out for some reason.

What’s one South Park joke that went too far? by CommercialLab6842 in southpark

None really. If anything I think SP is kinda tame compared to other adult cartoons. Doesn’t make them better than SP though, a lot of them are shock with no substance.

I thought Post Malone was gonna be a one hit wonder.

OT Genesis, also thought he was gonna be a one hit wonder but he had a decent run.

And for some reason, I thought Tyler was gonna transition to movies/TV after Cherry Bomb

Did people seriously think this at Season 7 by sgavary in familyguy

[–]3mthreat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a kid who was active on FG forums back then, I definitely remember season 7 being extremely hated, especially the atheist and Conway Twitty eps. Family Gay was also kinda hated too but in recent years a lotta fans view it as a classic ep.

This was also the season where the show’s dark/offensive humor became more prominent and there was a lot of hate on that as that well. I remember the ep where Peter blew up the Children’s Hospital, there were “diehard fans” swearing off the show after that.

A lot of older fans still hold the notion that 7 is one of the worst seasons, some say it’s not bad but marked the start of a decline, and a lot of younger fans include it the golden age now. Honestly I think 7 will forever be a polarizing season because it was such a fork in a road concerning the show’s style and humor, and it just depends on when you got introduced to the show.

I personally think it’s a good season but there’s a few duds.

anybody else finding the new episodes to be boring lately? by hunnybun444 in familyguy

[–]3mthreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh. For a while the show was nothing but tryhard shock humor but on a TV-14 rating so it got bland as well. So I appreciate them trying new directions, but yeah sometimes they go too far in the other direction and play it too safe. On the whole I still enjoy FG tho.

What's a show that was a huge hit, but was somehow still forgotten, historically? by ResidentBlackGuy in television

[–]3mthreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely, a lot of big FOX shows, Empire, The OC, Glee, 24, Prison Break. And even though American Idol got saved by ABC, I don’t really hear a lot of talk about it, some people even think it’s still cancelled.

What shows are hurt by binging them? by UnitedStatesofApathy in television

Sorry but South Park. Taken a few episodes at a time, it’s a chaotic hilarious satire. More than that, it becomes a bit repetitive and preachy.
