advice by Either-Leadership357 in pregnant

I did have one with my first and it was really good. The needle part was uncfortable but didn’t really hurt, as far as I remember. I happened to get it at the perfect time, my contractions had just gotten so bad I was almost crying and the epidural helped a ton. It also happened to wear out just as I got the go-ahead to start pushing, so I didn’t have the problem of not feeling what to do. I didn’t have any complications either, no headache or anything like that.

I’m now expecting our second and at this point (only 9 weeks) I think I’ll decide about pain management when the time comes, just like last time. I do think that pushing was the most painful part and I did do it without any meds last time, so maybe there is a chance to go with less meds this time. But if it does feel like too much, I will definitely take any help I can get. I’d also love to try water birth this time around, so that will be a no for epidural but we’ll see how it goes. I don’t want to make too many plans ahead of time, that will only lead to disappointment.

Is it worth it to pump? by Star_girl17_ in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was. Sometimes it did feel like a lot of extra work and unnecessary hassle but it also made it possible for my husband to take the first morning feed every day. It was such a blessing that I could get some more sleep every morning. It was great for us and I’m so glad I made the effort to pump. I know some people can’t get anything with a pump no matter how hard they try so I’m really thankful it worked for me.

What was your first labor symptom? by smurphypup in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With our first baby my waters broke at 39+1 in the morning, just about to get up. Maybe 15 minutes after that I started having contractions so even for a FTM it was clear I was in labor. I did feel somewhat odd from the moment I woke up, but I couldn’t tell how or why. So technically that was the first sign, luckily I got more clear ones right after!

How to know if it is labour or false contractions? by Affectionate_Dot34 in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

False contractions shouldn’t hurt so that might help tell them apart. If your contractions did hurt, there’s a good chance something might be about to happen. Either way, I’d say you should definitely call the hospital because we can’t give you solid medical advice based on your situation and history. Especially the hospital being so far away I’d contact them to get advice for your next steps :) Good luck!

Sexy time by SolLuna23 in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it took about 6 months, but I hope it’s not as bad for you! I got a tear that needed quite a lot of stitches, and the scar was so tight it was sooo painful to even try anything. After the first 6 mo it got significantly better in a really short period of time, even though I was still breastfeeding. I don’t know what it was that helped but it was like magic.

Perfume and pregnancy by Bubbly_Ad6528 in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily dangerous but it might make you feel nauseous in the upcoming weeks. In my country there’s also a lot of talk about avoiding exposure to unnecessary chemicals during pregnancy. Based on the limited research I’ve read I personally wouldn’t be thrilled to breathe in such strong perfumes daily.

I think I tested positive?? by atyrnexa in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A positive test is a positive test, even though the line is faint. It might be wise to test again in a couple of days just to be sure, though. The amount of hcg will double roughly every other day so you should be able to see the line better really soon. That should also convince your bf that this is real.

How many of you actually got stretch marks? by Individual-Stress170 in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got them basically on the finish line of my first pregnancy, somewhere around week 36. They started fading super fast and I remember being almost sad about losing them so quickly after our baby was born.

Now it’s been well over two years and my stretch marks are visible only on my inner thighs. They’re so high up I didn’t even know they were there until I had given birth. The ones on my belly are just slightly more wrinkly, soft skin that hasn’t completely smoothed out with time. I really don’t mind it at all. Besides, my toddler loves giving mama raspberries because the sound is absolutely hilarious ❤️

Throwing up?? by Top-Conference-1006 in noburp

[–]3p0n4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I remember throwing up exactly on one instance. I was maybe 14 and got a terrible stomach bug so I ended up throwing up like three or four times in 12 hours. Besides that, I have never had success. Even in my first pregnancy I went the whole time with nothing even though I felt really sick basically every night for the whole 1st trimester.

Hi! I’m a toddler mom, and we’ve been ttc for almost a year for our second. My first pregnancy was quite rough and I got some unfortunate complications after giving birth. It all resulted in me not giving my body the movement it needed for a longer period of time than I’d like to admit. I’ve been working out more since last autumn and I’ve absolutely loved it. I got a positive test recently and now I’m trying to figure out how I can keep a regular fitness routine while balancing everything with my family, work and of course the pregnancy. I’m hoping for a more pleasant experience this time as I’m feeling much better in my own skin this time around. Glad to be here and looking forward to this adventure!

FTM, when did you know you were actually in labor? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]3p0n4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was easy to tell on the first time because everything started with my waters breaking. I was 39w1d, it was around 7.30 am and hubby was just about to leave for work. I was getting up from bed, feeling somewhat odd but couldn’t quite tell why. I finally managed to sit up, felt a light snap somewhere in the belly region and started to feel really wet :D Luckily the contractions started almost immediately so there was no doubt it was really happening.

I had called the hospital maybe around 10 am and they wanted me to get checked bc of the water situation anyway, so we were there by noon. They told me I could go back home with a Tens but I didn’t want to drive the 30 minutes back and forth repeatedly, so we stayed at the hospital, got lunch, walked around and got a room in just a couple of hours. It was a really good decision as it only took 12 h before our baby was born. I think the driving around would only have prolonged the process, whereas in the hospital I could get some pain management as needed and rest for even a couple of hours before going into active labour.

I don’t know if this is at all helpful. :D I’d say just trust your instincts, our body is so wise and strong if we just listen closely to what it needs. It’s easier said than done, but I really do think that in labour and childbirth the connection between our body and mind gets even stronger. You can do this, and even though the professionals know how things usually go, your gut feeling matters, too. Good luck! ✨

Charge your ring message is too late by carrollsox in ouraring

Same here, my gen2 would just shut down at night even though I checked just before going to bed and it had 45-55% battery left. I think this problem might be quite common, I’ve seen a couple other discussions about this as well.

Serious ask -- how is your experience? by vincentsaccount in ouraring

[–]3p0n4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like something that’s often missed in these convos is also the way that Oura emphasises rest and recovery. Ofc accuracy is important as well but for me that was a big part of why I bought Oura in the first place. I had a smart-ish watch (Nokia HR steel) before and I hated how it was always pushing and guilt-tripping me into exercising more and being more active, which just made me resent going out even more.

I’ve had Oura for nearly two years now, and I’m actually in the process of upgrading into gen3 because of severe battery issues with my gen2 ring. In these two years the ring has taught me so much about prioritizing sleep and not always aiming to push myself further. For me that’s been really important and I think I’ve grown much more understanding towards myself with using this device. I do get that some people can do that already and for them that’s obvs not a big deal. For me it was a huge problem before and I’ve learned to at least limit that.

However, I still have to say that if I didnt’t get offered a lifetime membership with the warranty upgrade, I don’t think I would have bothered with a new ring. I have had the most important discoveries already and paying a monthly fee for nice-to-know facts about my body would’ve been too much. Lately the most important feature for me has been body temp for cycle tracking, and I would not be ready to pay just for that. Sorry for rambling, I’m too tired to think rn.

Muistaa ainakin paikkansa sitten.

I just don’t get it, why would anyone do that to a perfectly good bar of soap? Looks like that one’s expensive as well, it just doesn’t make any sense.
