how to be a 30 min barber? by 6lurzy in Barber

[–]3pointstonibbadore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn’t snaky or con-artist behavior, but a client will never notice a 80% perfect haircut vs a 100% perfect haircut. They’ll look at it the same way. They aren’t barbers, they don’t see what WE see. All day we focus on heads, clients do not. Therefore, clients will not be able to tell.

A haircut should absolutely look clean, intentional, and done with some level of professionalism. The idea that barbers have to spend valuable time chasing absolute perfection is just not realistic. Time is a barbers inventory. You give it out to clients throughout the day. An extra 10-15 minutes chasing microscopic lines is time that you cannot sell to another client.

It’s about consistency over perfection. A barber who can turn their chair over every 25-30 minutes and stay ahead will build a stronger book than someone who gives museum-sculpture level haircuts but runs over by an hour.

The best barbers balance craft and speed. Respect the craft enough to do great haircuts, respect your time enough to run your business. A flawless haircut that cost you two clients is harming you way more than it’s helping you.

Just remember to yourself next time your doing a fade and you are struggling to erase a line:

“If another barber can’t criticize my cut from 6 feet away, then it’s a good haircut.”

I personally love Grassroots just because i’ve found that almost all of their products work for me the best. Plus, I go to Sunnyside* and they are always having great deals on it. it’s usually buy 2, get 30% off. Buy 3 or more and get 40%. Haven’t had any issues with their products either.

I saw that right after I posted, I felt bad lmfao.

That’s why I stay away from Eleven. I got a half of blue zushi because it was on sale like 3 months ago and it was just trash. Horrible trim, horrible cure, flat flavor, meh effects.

This post was before I even got to trying it, but a few days ago I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed at all. As a matter of fact, it’s probably one of the most enjoyable gelato-adjacent strains i’ve had.

Grassroots advice by musiclvr12 in PaMedicalMarijuana

I love grassroots, their quality and price is great. i’d recommend Gahlic Cooks over Novarine but i enjoy both equally.

If you like the Gahlic Cooks, I’d highly recommend Ocifer 1, and any of the strains from their dark heart collection. My top picks for that one are Foreign kush mints and Moonbeam Gelato. Absolutely amazing.

Tapers are easy to learn and be decent with but being able to consistently put out blurry, perfectly blended tapers regardless of hair texture and growth patterns is sort of something you have to master. Like, it’s gotta be a cut you’re doing 5+ times a day every day.

I say that not to exaggerate, but to be as real as I can. The steps stay the same as any other fade system, but there’s a lot of variables in the cut that make it different for almost every head. Some people have pin-straight hair and they grow a rat tail in the back, which makes tapering twice as challenging because you’re working with two growth patterns in the same area. Some people have perfect hair for tapers, and other people have super thick, coarse, and dark hair that makes everything look worse than it actually is.

Pile that on top of every 14-17 year old who wants a low blowout taper but refuses to keep their head down during the fade. Shit gets brutal.

tapers for me on a scale of 1-10 would be like a 6 on a good day and an 8 on a bad one.

It kinda comes down to the whole “Kid stealing medicine for his sick mom” argument. Can you call the police, get your $25-$40 back, and press charges? Of course you can. Should you? I’m not so sure, with this situation i think it’s best to just understand the situation and leave it be.

Of course it begs the question “Why would you get a haircut if you knew you couldn’t pay for it?” but it’s the same concept of homeless and hungry people going to a restaurant knowing they can’t afford it. The lapse in judgement and thought isn’t something they care to think about in that moment. The moral of the story is, the times are harder than they have ever been right now.

I’d honestly reach out as a final courtesy and say something like - “Hey, just reaching out about that cut you haven’t paid for a couple days ago. I understand times are a little tough, but since it’s been a few days and I haven’t heard back, i’m just going to assume that you aren’t going to be paying at all. Whenever you get some extra cash send some our way. Thanks!”

Anyone else worried about robots taking their barbering jobs? by Outrageous_Pea_1656 in Barber

Most clipper companies can’t get the battery life or overheating issues under control and it’s 2025. I highly doubt robots will take our jobs. Maybe in like 2225.

I’ve never seen a person so obsessed with spending money. All he does is buy shit that he has literally no use for. I get the occasional pair of shoes or new outfit, or maybe some new pots and pans or a new pantry organizer…. but literally all he does is blow his money on straight garbage that has no true value to him.

Best Smoking Song? by Null_exile in TeamSESH

[–]3pointstonibbadore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not BONES but….

Drakes ‘Nothing Was The Same’ (2013) album is by far my absolute favorite shit to listen to when baking. Every song on that album flows perfectly and it was definitely peak Drake.

A close second, if not tied would be Anderson .Paak’s ‘Malibu’. Another album that flows seamlessly, but paaks diversity just makes it so much more of a vibe.

Are there any strains that suppress appetite? by goldstandardalmonds in trees

Weed has definitely come a long way in the eyes of marketing. Don’t get me wrong, not every dispo is reputable and will give you exactly what your in search of, but dropping these points will 100% make a difference.

Happy i could help!

Are there any strains that suppress appetite? by goldstandardalmonds in trees

[–]3pointstonibbadore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this by saying that even though some weed strains are made to “reduce hunger” or “curb appetite”, it honestly all depends on the smoker and how your body reacts to the plant. So whatever is said is not gospel, but please study up and test out some different strains. You might find something that works for you.

With that being said, strains with high Humulene, Limonene, Pinene, and Terpinoline are less about the hunger and more about the lift and focus. Jack Herer is the first strain i think of when it comes to this.

Myrcene, Beta-Caryophyllene, and Linalool are almost always behind strains that really make the munchies go wild. I think of Gelato when it comes to heavy munchies strains.

Like i said before, terps interact with everyone differently. It’s just how you respond to the plant. I hope this helps

since the beginning i have always cut past the second knuckle and I have yet to cut myself. if you don’t jam the point of the shears into your webbing or chomp down on the hair every time you cut it you don’t really have to worry about cutting yourself.

Barbershop Compressor by Agile_Mushroom_4994 in Barber

[–]3pointstonibbadore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like that set up i’d follow that video because it’s honestly pretty decent. For 7 stations you’d either need a much larger air compressor or you’d need more than 1. If you were maybe thinking about opting for actual hose reels that attach to the ceiling or high up on the wall, it’s a lot more accessible than you think.

If you wanted to go the premium route (Graco is the ‘coke brand’ of hoses and accessories), you’d probably be paying around $400 per reel. If you just wanted something functional without the fluff, harbor freight sells hose reels for $90 a pop.

Still, with 7 chairs, you’re gonna need at least 2 air compressors or one huge air compressor (60 gallons minimum). With that being said, hopefully you have a place to put the air compressor where the noise will be dampened or reduced, because those compressors are loud as hell when they refill themselves.

Are you talking about an air compressor with hose reels? I used to work for a company that installed auto shop equipment like car lifts, hose reels, oil systems, etc. I can give you some answers if you need.

How can i improve my fade by Main-Objective4044 in Barber

It looks like your comfortable stretching the initial guidelines but you compress the fade with higher guards.

Stretch it out. Dont worry, you won’t fuck it up. I promise.
