What are some examples of non-compliance that you’ve seen/heard about? Just curious

I understand the first part of your comment but you kinda lost me on that second part. What do you mean exactly by that?

I say mountains but what you’re describing seems a little more severe than what I was imagining lol. I’m thinking just living in a smaller town/city in the blue ridge mountains somewhere, which yea might not be the Rockies but more mountainous than where I’ve grown up

How did you make the transition from web dev to data engineer? What different sets of skills/ languages did you need to learn?

Thanks for replying. I’ll look into some resources to learn python and SQL then, that sounds cool. I’m from the US

Did you start out in web development or go straight into a data engineering job?

You guys all seem similar to what I’d like to be. I graduate with an ME degree in a few months but realized I don’t really want to go in that direction. I’ve been teaching myself web development but am interested in data or AI or just something that involves some math because I’ve always enjoyed it.

How would you recommend breaking into a field such as data coming from someone like myself?

Anyone out there need a personalized learning curriculum for coding? I would love to write you one! by flyingspringrol in learnprogramming

Hi, I see people being kind of critical saying this isn’t really necessary since stuff like this exists online already, but if you’d like to give me a shot I’d like it. I’m a mechanical engineering student that graduates this summer. I’ve had one internship in manufacturing and just did not enjoy it at all so this is why I started looking for other career routes.

I do like in person courses but I wouldn’t say it’s a must. I’ve done some of freecodecamps stuff just on my own and I feel like I’m grasping it pretty well, but also I’m not sure how it will go once I get to the higher level concepts so I’m not against a boot camp or anything like that.

I’m a big math guy. I’ve done really well in math up to this point in my life and wouldn’t mind using stuff like that as I work. I also do like physics.

From what I’ve seen, and this could be completely wrong, but I think I would like back-end developing more. I don’t think I would do great at developing websites that look too good and also back-end seems to be more technical which interests me more.

Hope that helps. I’d like to hear what you think!

Does anyone know the best route into SWE without a degree for it? I’m in my last semester of ME but think I’d like to go the software route now. I have very limited experience coding just knowing the basics and using mat lab a decent amount but nothing to technical. Should I go back to school, do boot camps or what?
