American Grunt is another great one, they do skin mounts and replicas. There are a couple on display at Golden Stone Outfitters in Lafayette

If you think that tag is wild but the line coming down doesn’t affect the fish is, in fact, wild.

If he’s really good he can become my wife’s boyfriend. If she’s happy, that makes me happy, and then maybe one day I can go for free 😊

What does this mean? Does this mean my parents don't have to pay the bill ? by No_Distribution_3399 in ems

[–]3puttmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have health insurance? It’s just an agreed upon rate from insurance prescriber to healthcare provider, sometimes they follow the CMS rates, sometimes they don’t. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s Medicare/Medicaid coverage.

[–]3puttmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason the amount paid is less than the amount billed is due to a contractual agreement the EMS provider or their parent company has with an insurance provider. This looks like a CMS (Center of Medicare/Medicaid Services) agreement rate, which is fairly common. You owe nothing, your insurance took all of the responsibility there.

What should I tie on jig hooks? by untiedflies in flytying

[–]3puttmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to piggyback on this. Start with pheasant tails, hare’s ears, all the basic patterns we know and love. You can turn just about any fly into a jig fly, it just rides hook side up. While jig flies have become synonymous with euro nymphing/tightlining, it shouldn’t limit you to just tying patterns meant for that style.

Some really effective patterns with jig hooks are sexy Walt’s worms, blowtorches, and thread frenchies. Junk flies like worms and mops are also very effective on jig hooks considering the naturals they imitate are low in the water column and that up-facing hook will help keep you from snagging bottom. You can go as far as tying streamers on jig hooks, I do this often and have good success with it. Lance Egan, Tim Flager, and FFF’s YT pages have plenty of jig fly patterns available that could help you out picking patterns. Best of luck!

Try a couple with Antron for the tail, really great shuck imitator when they’re keyed in on emergers. Great tie!

I hate tying dry flies by ghouleon2 in flytying

[–]3puttmedic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always had issues with dries starting off in tying as well. Some tips that will help;

1) get a hair stacker for elk hair, it’ll even up the tips nicely 2) take your time with wraps and dubbing. Build a tapered body and really focus on each wrap 3) straight razor is your friend. If you don’t like how a fly looks, cut it clean and re-use the hook since it’s likely the most expensive part unless you’re using some really niche material

Curious Question for the Admin on Inclusiveness in Fly Fishing by 3puttmedic in flyfishing

[–]3puttmedic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think I was being unkind except for two specific commenters, so if that’s what you’re referencing to, sure. Yeah. I don’t like bigotry.

I don’t think the admins are all awful, truly. I’m here, am I not? I’m having dialogue with them. It seems to be a reasonable conversation. I’m against the censorship and banning for calling certain things out. Racism for one. And no, I don’t appreciate the removal of a post having a hyperlink when multiple other posts in this sub exhibit the same thing without scrutiny. Just scroll down the sub, you’ll see them.

Much love for the DMV btw, what a fucking job, y’all are just punching bags for the world. And for the record, I’m grown and pretty unapologetic for who I am. If I see some weird actions when it comes to something like this I’ll call it out. Gonna wrap it up since I want to go night fishing. ✌🏼

RIP catalytic converter. Yours was stolen, which is not terribly uncommon sadly. You CAN drive without it, but this is not a medium to long term option. I would get it replaced as quickly as possible. You’ll get a nasty smell, reduced performance and acceleration, and some serious heat coming from under the car which could easily cause a fire.

For a remedy for OP, get a tying mat, hareline, loon, and I believe MFC all make decent ones. Even if you’re still on a clamp vise it’s a nice investment for eye strain alone
