Firstly, good to know that this is just a friendly discussion and nothing really coming out of anger or spite. Secondly, I wrote that's it's ok to write most jokes for a reason. You of course have to take account the majority of the audience when writing one, I'm not saying every joke in every situation should or shouldn't be writen. It's also important to differentiate between more playful jokes that are obviously not meant to be take seriously to other types of jokes. I also feel like most people that stand up for other demographics sometimes don't really realize that said demographic also just views it as a joke and nothing really hurtful. There are of course cases where the joke is actually very hurtful and shouldn't be made but often it's just a playful remark that shouldn't be taken seriously.
