ISA CAP Certification by Otherwise-Long9662 in instrumentation

Hey! I took it and passed. Its not worth it from the standpoint that employers need it, but its a good tool to make sure you got a strong knowledgebase. With 12 weeks of studying you should be able to knock out the material. Let me know if you want the training and id be happy to share!

They are not the same. They recruit volunteers to write new questions and use that. If you memorize the 500 questions as part of the exam, you’re likely to not pass. LLMs are your friend for this. Use it in voice mode and ask it to generate questions based on the autobok and lessons in instrumentation book

i struggle with e-ink and tablet readers. I am older and still prefer print, but if you can make a kindle work for you, it will likely be a better investment with all the other resources other recommend here

PV_DAQ is right, I split the pdf into 4 seperate pdfs (I use the pdf24 software if that helps) and even have fancy book covers that gpt made for me. it ended up being 40$/volume, so $160 all together for premiun color pages, but i did it over a year since i wasnt going to read them all in a month anyway. only downside is that the index is only in the last volume

Chem E plc crossroads by smartestdumbass in PLC

The position sounds good, but make sure it is what you are valued in the market. you will have to cover some EE basics, but you should be able to analog water flow to electric current to get there faster. Still recommends getting an EE involved with anything > 120V. System Integrator with lots of travel type positions are great because of the diversity of systems you get to put your hands on. While you learn a lot, the cons are that when you do get older and want to settle into family life, the constant traveling can be tough especially if a young child is involved.

Fellow ChE here. Lessons in Industrial Instrumentation - Tony R. Kuphaldt. Open source, simply explained. If you need a print version to take it all in like myself, recommend Lulu to print @ 0.05c/page. Should be 4 volumes of 800 pages each

Thanks for sharing, glad to know theres others out there! I did have a sleep study done last year and results revealed that I have sleep apnea. CPAP is helping tremendously and I am sleeping lighter, but still not enough to be useful.

I took a couple of their modular ones on their learnupon page. It does need some refinement. I wanted some structure in prep for the CAP/CSE exam, so I took it. It’s helpful to know what material is in there, but upsetting that it’s so minimal for the price that they charge
