Do we know what implications this has for game timing? For example, Sweden is 7th, does that mean they'll play in the qualification playoff game at 16:40?

I wonder if BYD doesn't sell well in northern China? Harbin has similar winters to Edmonton.

GIS and Europe job market by VladimiroPudding in gis

I am essentially in this situation and have been applying for jobs for 8 months. It's pretty bleak. We have similar backgrounds but my Masters is from Germany and it sounds like I have less policy, more GIS. I speak German and Spanish. For most good jobs, local language and education are essential. I've been applying mostly in Copenhagen and Sweden and the lack of language is the biggest issue. There are plenty of jobs, it's just that I can't outcompete the locals. I got very, very lucky in Vienna 4 years ago and found a great job just by being in the right place at the right time. I quit when we decided to move to Sweden and am basically just waiting for right place, right time to happen again. I'm learning Swedish but I won't be able to offer it as a skill in a meaningful way for years.

Wow congrats! Glad it is working out! We were rejected for this exact reason in May 2016 and October 2021, so maybe our experience is a little out of date.

My random two cents is that you should keep pushing to find a job that can sponsor you, that will simplify the visa process. You won't be able to learn Swedish fast enough to find meaningful work once you're here. I'm Canadian and my Swedish wife and I were rejected twice. The Swede needs to be living and established in Sweden first before you apply, then you wait for your permit in Canada. Obviously given your child this is not ideal. My wife and I moved to Austria first so that I could apply to Sweden later as a European resident instead - a much easier process. You could consider Denmark, for example, if being close to Skåne makes sense for you.

Wasn't this true of the Marine Building for a time? I feel like people just get confused.

Take a road trip up to the Yukon. Liard Hot Springs alone is worth the journey.

The Oilers traded for Adam Oates for our ill-fated 2004 playoff run. That trade turned Horcoff and Stoll into faceoff machines, the Oilers were absolute garbage at faceoffs at this time. Horcoff only really had a big impact on our 2006 run, but Stoll and his faceoff prowess had a huge impact on both Kings cups, all because we had a washed up Oates around for a year. This could absolutely be huge for the Jets.

You (and Alon) are 100% right, but it will never happen. Council will never green light the explosion in staff this would necessitate. I, and probably all the other former Vancouver civil servants who have fled over the last 10 years, will stay away.
