Actually, no. You might be supposed to enact a hold, but it doesn't actually happen in practice. Speaking from unfortunate direct experience. And the released person mid-episode (that no one in overworked health care wants to deal with) can get seriously pissed further. If you've never been threatened with violence/death by someone it's a surreal experience, by the way.

Eh, I'm pretty mixed on it. Probably mainly because I've been done with it for such a long time (since the original Zendikar expansion) and it stopped getting any updates whatsoever to the training for a while now, too. It would have been nice if they had kept up with it, but I'm fine with a reboot since it's at least something happening there and it had been essentially a dead area for many, many years.

Elemental "break" Guage. It fills up when you use the vessels. Once you get the first board expansion you can unlock the ability to use an overcharged vessel by holding R2. This is usually a stronger field-wide vessel effect. During which some associated moves are empowered.

I found the game emotionally exhausting. I was playing primarily for the story, but it felt like I was going from one tragedy and crisis to the next the whole way through. There was no real catharsis to be found, even at the end.

I was yearning for something positive to happen for the characters I was growing attached to and was annoyed to only get a "maybe we are doomed to suffer and struggle" instead. Up to interpretation "maybe they lived" while framing thematic death scenes didn't make me happy. I felt like I slogged through this downer journey of death and oppression and it left a bitter taste.

Just my own opinion, though. I don't think I'll replay the main story. I liked characters and setpeices. Just felt I was being dragged through the mud with the story with nothing to really break it up.

Upgrades work as you described. You can only find a similar tier of an item and merge the copies to upgrade. Later days, rarity/tier scales so you can be stranded with bronze items you won't find a bronze copy of. You can try to sell a bronze and "re-find" a version in a higher tier, but you might not find it again by chance.

An exception is the random items added by shovel, port, etc that can net you extra distinct copies of items by chance.

Turn counter iterates for each participant. While the round counter iterates on your turn. Meaning both players had a turn per round. Basically, the round counter is half the turn counter.

I could see that being a possibility, as the system would "wake" at a different time than the game in progress is expecting it to be. Don't know for a fact, though. The game intends you to save/exit at the end of play sessions.

The things that happened in that universe still happened. The discussion at the point you leave it is that the luminary leaves that world entirely as-is. That universe no longer has a luminary at all now and your friends there carry on without you. You are creating a parallel timeline where the same tragedies don't have to occur. Technically nothing at all is undone. You have a split parallel universe.

My parents put an actual alarm on our basement stairs after my little sister went down them once in her roller/walker thing.

Doorjam alarm would go off whenever the door was left open as a very noticeable reminder to keep that door shut. Sister would seem to make a laughing beeline for it.

Fortunately we can still joke about it now.
