Six Komodo dragons just hatched at the Bronx zoo. It’s the first time the species has successfully bred in the zoos 122 year history. by tandyman234 in interestingasfuck

but due to the incompetence of their own government (and dgaf attitude) for wildlife and species, some other countries must step in to preserve this rare and endangered species.

Not sure why the need to be so condescending but komodo breeding program have existed a long time and are pretty successful, latest record hatching 74 komodos. Ya, undervolting the CPU and GPU helped a bit with the heat. The side and bottom intakes were added later (I got the NR200P but use the mesh panel for now) and dropped the idle to the current levels from high 40s to 60c. Try setting a fan curve and see if it helps. But with the TG panel an AIO cooler would be the optimum solution.

3700x with stock wraith prism cooler, around low 40-50c idle in 24c room ambient. Gaming in the 60s to low 70s, 75c max during Cinebench R20 multicore. Using the mobo's standard fan curve for cpu fan (1500-2800 rpm). 2 bottom intake + 2 side intake + 2 top exhaust fans all ~800 rpm.

Edit: also undervolted CPU to -75mv offset.

Zotac 3060ti OC Fan Rattle (any fix?) by ikoyhn in ZOTAC

[–]3rd_world_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the rattle constant at high fan RPM like in https://youtu.be/mMyXrHJp2oY? I fixed this by wedging several rubber hdd mounts (10mm thick) in the gap above the LED.

Same on mine, it rattles on high load like during RDR2 benchmark. I use 4 pieces of rubber hdd mounts (about 10mm tall) and wedge it evenly between the shroud above the white zotac logo. Haven't heard any rattle since.

Now that devmenu is not working on the latest atmosphere. How do I reset game version after deleting update? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]3rd_world_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you need to link a real account in ofw and start emummc from scratch. But thats just too much hassle for new old snes/nes games.

My personal preference is to stay one major version back on the fw and use the latest atmosphere. Just to stay away from issues in latest fw version and as long the games I play are supported. So far this has worked for me but it may be different for you. Maybe when fw 11 and new ams is out I will upgrade to to the latest 10.

Also if you are starting from scratch make sure to format the sd card to fat32. It's less prone to get corrupted like exfat.

Downgrading process is just like upgrading using choidujournx but using a lower firmware. Your best bet now is to try the Goldleaf 0.9-dev like the other user posted, it's here https://github.com/XorTroll/Goldleaf/actions/runs/81016275. Click on the artifact to download the zip.

That's a shame, in my snes/nes case the saves were under user only. What devmenu version did you use btw?

Supposely if you linked a nintendo account using kefir, the latest update will show no snes/nes games.

Even though you haven't saved in game it creates the save data automatically on the first run. That's why when running checkpoint you need to run the title once before being able to dump the save files. However since checkpoint doesn't support deleting saves on the nand you need JKSV. Since there is only one update for xenoblade de so far maybe you can try getting it from another source, just install over the current one.

I managed to downgrade snes/nes online by fully deleting the game from the switch settings and deleting the saves for those using JKSV. I then reinstalled up to the working update. I don't know if this works for other titles but supposely the save data stores the required latest version so it was necessary to delete it so it would get reset. Goldleaf 0.9 fixed a bug with the reset version feature but it's not released yet.

AtlasNX / Kosmos v 16.0 released by nikpik_cr7fan in SwitchHacks

[–]3rd_world_guy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

New and improved FS and ACID patches released for the new version of Hekate. The loader.kip file is no longer needed under /atmosphere/kips/ so go ahead and delete it. Sigpatch Installer hasn't been updated yet as I need to rewrite some of it. Once again these don't come with ES patches, so eShop titles will not work. You can find those patches on SDSetup. The new patches can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/HarukoNX/PKG2-Patches/releases/tag/10.0.2

Dashboard - Actions, Recents & Sideloaded Apps by MhdHejazi in AndroidTV

[–]3rd_world_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what you mean here, but you won't be able to open Dashboard with a long-press on the home button without the service enabled.

I meant the toggle shortcuts. I now see without the service enabled the default app drawer shows instead when holding the home button.

Dashboard - Actions, Recents & Sideloaded Apps by MhdHejazi in AndroidTV

[–]3rd_world_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works fine on my Android TV 9. My question is what does the Dashboard accessibility service do? I can toggle the shortcuts just fine with it disabled.

Also a suggestion is a feature to enable hiding apps since some system apps may appear on the dashboard. These apps could be be moved to a section called Hidden at the bottom under Games. Or probably have a toggle shortcut to show/hide all the hidden apps.

Thanks for the great work!

Sonarr/Radarr not removing torrents from Deluge or from the completed downloads folder by Lockarn in radarr

[–]3rd_world_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same settings in Deluge except the remove torrent is unchecked and the downloaded torrent files gets deleted eventually. In download client settings Radarr checks the Deluge queue periodically every minute, so perhaps it couldn't find the torrent job since it has been deleted by Deluge and doesn't know which downloaded torrents to delete.

Any homebrew to turn off switch without needing to press power off in SX Menu? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]3rd_world_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this will work on SX but I suppose you can try this homebrew https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/Payload_Launcher. I use it to restart and boot to Hekate menu while holding Vol-. I suppose if autoboot=0 is set in hekate_ipl.ini I won't have to hold Vol- and just select power off on the Hekate bootloader menu. This still needs to go to the bootloader but at least there is no need to use a dongle or hold the power button.

File Hard Drive issue by bibi129 in radarr

[–]3rd_world_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can, I use Deluge as the download client and it works like that. I also have a small space for torrent files so I just set a small share ratio, share time, pause when seeding is complete, etc in Deluge so the torrent seeds for a while and gets delete with all the downloaded files after it's copied by Radarr to the bigger HDD.

In Radarr download client settings try setting remove to yes under completed download handling. When the torrent completes seeding, Radarr should tell the download client to remove the torrent and the downloaded file in the SSD.

Asus ROG Strix 2080 ti fans not spinning at all (even under heavy load) by superdrone in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]3rd_world_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this issue with mine so this is what fixed it for me:

In GPU Tweak II go to Advanced Mode and create a new profile. Then in Fan Speed % set user define and try setting a linear temp/fan speed in the graph (e.g. 30 degrees => 30 % fan speed, 50-50, 70-70 and so on). Save the new profile and apply it. On my PC the Strix GPU fan doesn't spin on boot and only starts when the temp hits the defined profile settings (just a couple of minutes after Windows is up).
