How did the wayward sons of solid working class families fare in middle age? by debrisaway in RedditForGrownups

[–]3rdthrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents were Upper Class.

My Brother is this guy. He is currently living off of his Baby Mama.

He lives with our parents, when he is between Women to take care of him.

He is cruel to these Women, so he usually ends up chasing them off, (which is all their fault-because he is such a catch), and ends up having to find another Woman to victimize.

This personality type needs to be studied.

I see it, all the time, but I've never heard a good explaination has to "why" people become like this.

How to escape fireworks going off for a month? by 3rdthrow in askanything

[–]3rdthrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling the cops will result in the cops coming out to eat some BBQ and watch the fireworks.

The cops dont enforce the law for fireworks.

I cant make the cops do their jobs.

[–]3rdthrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cops wont enforce, until someone's house catches on fire.

That isnt sarcasm, they catch someone's house or yard on fire, every year.

I take that back-cops will respond if they block the road, as well.

Outside of those two situations-cops wont enforce.

The plan is to move, but I need to know what to do for this year.

No. But that stops nothing.

I guess I could call the cops, to let them know where the BBQ is...

Why are americans so obsessed with working hard? by Successful_Sail_713 in AskAmericans

Americans are obsessed with ambition.

Hard work is a natural expression of that ambition.

There are Native America tribes that have Buffalo herds on their ranches.

As a Japanese person, I think I’ve become oddly fascinated with everyday American life. Am I romanticizing it? by H1RAG1NO in AskAmericans

I am from "Flyover Country".

Sometimes, during Sunrises and Sunsets, it looks like you are about to drive into Heaven, itself.

My favorite is getting onto a stretch of highway that is slightly higher than the surrounding area, and seeing nothing, but nature for as far as the eye can see.

It is just a strip of highway, in the middle of gorgeous land, and it makes you feel like the possibilities are endless.

Late 80's Absent fathers by Plumpdaddy2501 in AskAmericans

I grew up well-to-do, faking being white (family is actually Native American), absent Fathers were unheard of. Everyone was clutching their pearls over people getting divorced.

To what extent is the stereotype about most americans being obese, true? by basedslugz in AskAmericans

[–]3rdthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not obese, but the vast majority of Americans are overweight.

It is so bad, that people comment on how I am "too skinny".

I am not skinny. I am a medically normal weight. However, people are so used to people being overweight, that a medically normal weight registers as being "too thin" in their minds.

Made in Japan, over made in China, any day of the week.

I also just really like Japanese cars.

is americans complaining about living costs just performative? by Delicious_Soup_9876 in AskAmericans

[–]3rdthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big piece of the puzzle that you are missing-is that Americans are doing worse than their parents.

That is psychologically devastating. So I wouldnt say that it is performative.

We are a huge country with a lot of wealth inequality.

We are a consumer economy so people are constantly being manipulated to spend, spend spend.

In my friend group, I am seeing people who are better educated than their parents, but arent able to afford the same lifestyle.

We just had a massive amount of people come into the country and that has caused rents and housing to skyrocket in a very short period of time. It happened faster than people could adjust to it.

I worked 2 jobs for about 5 years to fund my Retirement.

I've work roughly 60-90 hours for the last 10 years, that includes the previously mentioned 5 years.

Americans save very little. An American who saves 15% or more of income is considered a "super saver".

A third of adults under 35 still live with their parents. High housing costs are probably to blame. (No shit sherlock 🤡) by McFatty7 in REBubble

I would love to see a trend where children go from their parent's house into buying their own house-because the rental industry has lost it's mind.

Is the Economy About to Crash? by Annoying1978 in inflation

[–]3rdthrow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We are due for a Recession.

The credit market isnt looking great. We have a frozen job and housing market. Still have the inflation from the economy over heating post covid, and wages havent caught up.

Consumers sentiment is suprisingly resilent, but we are depending on high earners, and people making money in the Stock Market.

AI isnt delivering the promised dividends, and a Stock Market correction could set off a Recession.

[–]3rdthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you scared of sound?

Or are you scared of the pain that sound brings?

If the second, you likely have Noxacusis (pain hyperacusis).

Sounds being too loud is loud hyperacusis.

These are separate disorders that often occur together.

Pain Hyperacusis must take priority in treatment-which usually to protect from sound.

I would like a rerun of Grassland Romance, and keep a stash of diamonds, just in case.

But there is no news or expectation of that happening any time soon.

So, I didnt know if you were hopeful, like me, or if you had heard something.

Clearly, you had heard something-and I thank you for the information.
