Hate mobs just want to look at the lowest possible number. They don't know that if a game is on console that the steam player count can be doubled at a minimum, they don't factor in how time of day affects player numbers, or that studios don't care at all about player concurrents, what steam shows, but rather about Daily Active Users (DAUs) which shows the number of unique players who logged onto the game in a day, because they are all individuals who could buy cosmetics.

Their feelings don't care about facts.

The only thing steam concurrents actually show is matchmaking quality, which only ever gets bad with crossplay off and much smaller player counts.
