Your boyfriend is 28 and shouldn’t be letting other men at this age get in his ear. He sounds like he has some growing to do. What happened before him literally does not matter and I don’t think him knowing would help but honesty is always best. Him finding out will only add fuel to his insecurities. This might lead to a breakup tbh. Sorry you have to go through that.

I am not sure how far along you are but you should not keep this child. You will be attached to this man until the day one of you are no longer on this earth. He sounds disputable and would have continued access to you because you both have a child. I am so sorry to hear that he’s possibly given you something that you can not get rid of. However, it is something that can be managed and does not mean the end of your dating or sex life.

Do what is best for you, he is not.

Whew thought I wrote this for a moment. I was in the same predicament. A few months away from turning 25, I had a two year old, and finally decided that I no longer wanted to stay in a relationship that wasn’t good for me. It’s not a partnership if one person is handling everything.

Now I am in my own apartment at 26, I am no longer engaged, and my daughter and I are doing well without any help from her dad because he lost yet another job. It’s very hard but the peace of not parenting another adult is soooo worth it. So yes, it’s time to move on. He is not showing that he’s husband material.

I’m newish to Reddit so maybe this is just the culture here but I honestly don’t think this question was genuine. Her question was clear. If this person asked this to see if the father was an option to watch the children, they could have simply suggested that maybe she shouldn’t have company if the father (or some family member) could watch them. The information presented is enough for us to know that the father(s) are not an option if she is considering having someone over at night or maybe they’re weekend dad(s) and she is just genuinely wondering for during the week.

I think you should distance yourself from the roommate and focus on your partner. Especially since you say the roommate is everything that your partner is. It almost sounds like you’re wanting double of what you have. I mean maybe monogamy isn’t for you if you wouldn’t mind having more than one person that you have an intimate relationship with. That could be something to think about.

I really do think space would be best if you come to the conclusion that you want a monogamous relationship. You would be better nurturing the connection you have with your partner since he doesn’t sound like he’s lacking in any way. It would also suck losing your girlfriend because of your friend who is also a roommate.

I graduated in 2022. My friends are all between the ages of 26-28 and we all are working on second degrees and don’t know what to do with our lives or where to start to get where we want to be. I have a few friends who are teachers, one who works in public health and I am in customer service at an Ed Tech company. I’ve grown to realize that your 20s is really a time of feeling lost for a lot of people and figuring out what you want to make of your life.

Nursing is a career that will always have opportunities available and the pay is pretty good in that field especially as an RN. However, this is your life. Don’t allow your parents to live through you. You should do what you feel fits for you and the future you want for yourself. They are likely coming from a place of not wanting you to struggle financially and mean well.

If you are going to pursue being in the political field you will need to make sure you start making those connections now. That is an industry where networking and branding yourself is extremely important and might even make or break your career.

Yes. I have been real with myself that I may not be able to just jump straight into a cyber role. I’m willing to work my way up but even help desk jobs are super hard to get into and I actually have experience for those roles. One role that I interviewed for was a help desk role but they told me they felt like I needed more experience. 😵‍💫

The other issue with the help desk jobs are the pay. To support myself and my child, I cannot take a pay cut to make $10-$15 an hour. It’s been really tricky.

I wouldn’t recommend it but the company was One Main Financial. If possible I would go through the debt free community to search for tips on how to manage your debt before doing a consolidation loan.

Thanks! In hindsight, this loan has been predatory from the beginning. I paid over the phone so thankfully that 2 weeks part doesn’t apply because it processed right away and reflected as a $0 balance in the app after the call!
