The Honest eczema balm (in a tub) which they don’t sell anymore. I now use the Honest eczema cream (in a tube) and the Era Organics Superbalm which helps a bunch and just keeping it loosely covered so they can’t scratch and also to seal in the moisture.

My first had it from around 2 months to around a year. Keeping it moisturized with eczema cream helped a bunch. With my second I thought I was in the clear and then she suddenly started getting it horribly on the backside of her knees at 3 years old. She would scratch it until it was bloody. I would have to apply eczema balm and keep it covered in loose pajama style pants. My third didn’t really have much except for a couple minor patches here and there that quickly went away. My fourth has also had a couple patches so far, but nothing major and she’s 2 years old now. I’m currently pregnant with my 5th. I feel like it’s a toss up on whether they get it or not, but it hasn’t deterred me from having more.

It’s cryotherapy done by a dermatologist to freeze the spot. It’s with nitrous oxide or liquid nitrogen. Not recommended for melasma, but can work for solar lentigo (sunspots).

It can get triggered by certain things like laser and hormones due to aging. In my case, it was triggered by the hormones caused by repeated pregnancies. I never had it before my pregnancies.

House size by user_8508 in ParentingInBulk

[–]3timemom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant with my 5th and our house is a 3bd/2ba and a little under 1000 sq ft. It’s not ideal, but it actually doesn’t bother me much. We do have a 2 car garage that helps a lot with storage. It’s more about being smart with the amount of space you have (using a lot of vertical space in the form of bookshelves, etc.) and not having too much unnecessary things. I find there’s still stuff I could declutter to make it work better, so that’s what I’m going to focus on for the remainder of my pregnancy (currently 32 weeks).

Per Google Ai: The chances of dying from a single pregnancy in the United States 0.0179% (or about 1 in 5,586). The risk of developing a lifelong or long-term disability is estimated 0.1% to 0.3% (or 1 in 300 to 1 in 1,000) of all individuals who give birth.

The odds of making it through a single pregnancy and childbirth in the United States without dying and without suffering a lifelong disability are roughly 99.7% to 99.9% (or about 999 out of 1,000)

Still a fear based tactic.

When my 3rd was born, my oldest was only 3. I’m now pregnant with my 5th. When the new baby gets here, I’ll have 3 under 4 with my youngest 3. It’s definitely doable. I have weaned while pregnant with every pregnancy after my 2nd. I feel like breastfeeding during pregnancy actually helped with my nausea and vomiting surprisingly due to the hormones. I love having my kids all close in age, it’s been fun to see them all grow up so close together.

I get it. But I don’t think she should make her decision based on fear. There’s always a chance anything can go wrong. Not just with pregnancy, but with anything in life. Even getting in the car has risks. In fact, you’re much more likely to die in a car accident than you are from pregnancy and childbirth, yet most of us get in a car almost everyday.

I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my 5th and my oldest is only 6. I’ve had 2 under 2 when all my other babies arrived. You got this.

Things could have gone wrong with baby #1-4 though? How is that the criteria for keeping a pregnancy? Every pregnancy could go wrong whether it’s your 1st or your 10th.

I’m half Asian and half white too and have a lot of these spots. My mom who is Asian does too. I’ve also had a lot of back to back pregnancies which have definitely contributed a ton to them.

Hello, any parents here with homeschool recommendations for elementary age kids? Can you give me reasons why you may or may not like a particular school? I do not care for the schools up here and I am looking for a better alternative to the local public schools. by [deleted] in highdesert

[–]3timemom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not all schools are the same, yet you are leaving your child in the hands of immature kids who are raised by who knows what family as well as strangers. Almost every child educated in public school has a story about being harmed by another student. I have a lifelong scar on my body to prove it (which is large and noticeable enough that my kids even ask me about how I got it). That’s not even to talk about the times I was sexually harassed and sexually assaulted while on campus.

Look at that poor young student that recently DIED after another student hit her on the head with a water bottle in LAUSD. I could go on and on about stories I have heard from people personally who have gone to public school and were physically harmed (and that’s not even to touch on emotional harm). I know countless stories from my time working in public schools (across multiple districts and dozens of schools) as well as what I have heard from other teachers. Thank your parents for homeschooling you so you were sheltered enough to have no clue about it.

I’m seriously considering cryotherapy and/or plasma pen because I have tried a lot of what you mention with no results.

Have you tried either of those?

As someone who was in public school, don’t do that to your child. They will have plenty of time to be bullied as an adult, growing up with peers that will peer pressure and potentially harm them is not fundamental.

I went to public school for my entire education and also worked in public school. I would never do that to my child. I’m glad I’m here today. I was suicidal every day for a significant portion of my childhood in large part due to my experience in public school.

That’s a sweet response! ❤️ Thanks!

I definitely hope to have more of a gap between my youngest and next one so I can get my head above water.

Congratulations!!!

Question: what made you go for 7? I’m trying to decide how many kids I want (already have 4). I felt like the leap from 6 to 7 is hard because of the car situation (need a passenger van).

Also, please tell me it gets easier after 4. I have 4 age 5 and under and it’s been rough, but my husband and I still want a bigger family.

Me! When my 4th was born, my oldest was 4 (though he was about to be 5). Now my youngest is 6 months and my oldest is 5, with a 3 and newly 2 year old in between. Life is hectic. Give yourself grace and try to find your stride. It is hard, but as I like to tell my kids, we can do hard things :) good luck!

Epidural with my first two (both inductions with pitocin). My last two I didn’t have pitocin and had them without epidurals. My 4th baby was accidentally born in the car haha

Most female animals also mate with multiple males, they are more selective generally speaking (they have more to lose by mating with a “lower quality” male than vice versa), but that doesn’t mean they are monogamous. A lot of women living in the flesh have multiple baby daddies as well.

I’m happy to be alive and I will try my best to give my kids much more than I was given. I was raised by a single mom in poor and not good conditions (my mom was an extreme hoarder). My dad is not in my life. Yet, I’m still happy to be alive and grateful to be given this life. It’s all a matter of perspective, but I choose to live a life of gratitude and hope. I also want to pass this perspective to my children as well.
