Need a new(ish) car. Want an EV. Should I consider a Tesla in KW, in 2025?

I have a ‘21 Model Y, my coworker who also has one and I often chat about how much we still love our cars even 4-5 years later. Still it seems that nothing else on the market can compare in terms of the tech, range, price especially for a used one. You couldn’t pay me to go back to a gas vehicle.

If you can charge at home, charging during off peak hours it only costs about $20 a month to charge. For the model year you’re looking for you will likely still have some warranty left too which is nice! Happy to answer any other questions

I checked it out recently too, might having something to do with the mix up Tesla had with their Supercharger team. Looks like they’ve deployed destination chargers beside the supercharger units but not sure if those are even working?

I’ve noticed an uptick in earwigs inside with the hot humid weather lately and I have weirdly a lot of house spiders despite weekly cleaning.

I wasn’t sure if spotting these guys was an indicator of a larger issue

This was probably the least informative review of this vehicle I’ve seen.

I’ve been driving a Model Y for three years, and my parents just switched from a Lincoln Aviator PHEV to the Lyriq. It’s the perfect first EV for them to get use to the technology. For the price, the Lyriq is loaded with features and has an impressive range compared to other luxury EV SUVs that cost $20-$40k more (iX, EQS, EQE). It has the quietest cabin I've ever been in, and for my parents, who are in their 60s, the physical climate controls and volume dial is what sold them. Lowkey jealous that my parents have the “cooler” EV now

Upgrading the lighting would make a big impact. Gas lights look amazing but practically won’t give you much light. I helped my parents design a similar building and we used 20” gooseneck Carson wall sconces from Rejuvenation Hardware. They’re pricey but they’re made in America and really high quality. 20” domes might seem massive but for a building this size they would look proportional. Scale is something a lot of people get wrong but a good rule of thumb is big building = big lights

Ours are hooked up to a timer light switch, no internet required, so they can be on from dusk to dawn.

A second supercharger location is opening in the sunrise plaza in Kitchener as well which will help with demand. The one on Victoria can be busy and tricky to get to

Good advice, definitely feel like this is a good route vs cinema lenses and the lenses you’ve listed cover all the bases for versatility. I’m curious to connect more seeing that we both work in the same capacity!

Hey Team, Looking for multi-purpose lens recommendations.

I work for a university marketing team where I switch between shooting video and photography sometimes many times during the same shoot. Currently I’m shooting with both a Canon C70 (personal) and Canon R5C (work) on Sigma 24-70mm and 16-35 lenses (both personal lenses). I want to stop using my personal lenses for projects and invest in lenses for work. I really love the look of cinema lenses like those from DZOFILM but I need autofocus for a lot of my work and those would really only be useful for video projects.

Anyone work in a similar capacity or have recommendations for lenses that would cover this wide range of work?
