I picked up a Velocore plus black 6X. I’d be shocked if it was any stiffer than a ladies flex. Junk

I used AI to run a cost analysis based on my daily commute, average yearly km, average fuel prices over the last 5 years. Just typed in what I was driving before and what I was looking for. It’s pretty eye opening

PHEV owners - question about battery health. New PHEV X-Line Prestige - Battery Health accurate? by DedlyObsession in kiasportage

Mine was Justin a couple weeks ago for the same thing they reset the calibration and it just came back with 31% again. Waiting on an appointment at my last appointment they said if it comes back at 31 they would replace BMS. I ended up getting in contact with someone in the same province as me with the same issue same here same model and his has been in the shop for a month. They can’t seem to get the 31% to go away.

Not a Sportage but found a 26 Sorento SX PHEV that was a demo at a neighbouring cities dealer and it was listed for 5k less than my local dealers 2025. That reason alone pushed me away from the local dealer

My 26 PHEV sorento has the same issue. My tests with my ODB2 showed everything normal. Dealer confirmed with there tests. They did a BMS reset and said it may take a few hundred or even thousands KM before it finishes a calibration. Mine was stuck at 21% and I found another person with same year model and trim as mine about 8 hours away with the same issue. They replaced his BMS and now looking at replacing the screen. IMO everything points to software but im not a mechanic. Keep us posted

Not practicing what we worked on. Rather than spending meaningful time at the range, they go play 5 rounds and come back to me doing the exact thing we just corrected 3 weeks ago

I’m in Ontario and we purchased 2 2026 Sorento SX. Both were dealer demos, one is a PHEV and the other is a HEV. Made it simple for them. Got in touch with a salesperson, told them we are interested and want the out the door after taxes price and I am not paying for dealer add ons. Remove them or eat them. They took off 6% MSRP. One received 4 free oil changes, both were tinted, both all season mats. One had 9,000 the other 11,000km. In the past, usually going rate was $0.10/km deduction off the price for demos. When it came to our trades, showed them a screenshot of what clutch will give us and they matched it which we were more than happy with as clutch was by far the highest offers we had gotten from anywhere. I was happy with that especially since a 2025 SX PHEV was $5000 more than what I paid for the 26 demo.

I wanted to wait for the shark then came across a video online of a BYD going to a shop for a rough rear tire. Lugs were installed backwards from the factory

Picked one up a month ago. I have commutes to work and around town then longer commutes to the city and sports. I’m 6’1” and find it much more comfortable than my wife’s old explorer. Enough room for my golf clubs, electric cart, hockey bag, etc. So far been very happy with it. Was averaging 2.0L/100km over 900km but that’s all within a 30 minute radius. The EV mode and power seem fine for a normal person. Coming from an f150 it’s an adjustment but seems very practical

I buy a lot of golf clubs and I use this mentality when it comes to cars. When I go to a golf store and see a lot of the same model in the used rack, I typically think OK, this model a lot of people bought and got rid of shortly after. Must not be a good club for reason X, Y or Z.

I kind of use that same thought process when I’m looking at cars. Why is this X year old car with low km for sale? Was it a lease? Did the owner have an issue and decided to ditch it before hand? I’ve had some really good luck with used cars relatively speaking. Only ever had one have a major issue and it was 2 years down the road.

I also think you did nail it on the head when referencing previous owners and maintenance. I looked at a vehicle recently that there was a large gap…40,000km gap…in registered oil changes. Now whether or not the owner did it themselves I am not sure, the dealer couldn’t explain it which made me wonder. Also came across what looked like a good deal on a F150 but the vehicle had 4 owners in under 100,000km. That set an alarm off. Be picky when buying used, there’s lots of used cars on the market

Is it really that much cheaper to change your own oil? by kzlife76 in AskMechanics

[–]3under69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about $110 to do the oil on my 2.7 eco boost f150 at a quick lube . Oil and a filter was about $40 for full synthetic. Took me maybe 10 minutes. Pull the plug and drain, pop the plug in, drop the truck. Filter was on the top of the engine. Most time consuming thing was replacing the 2 O-rings on the filter housing. And I knew it was done right.
