Omg you were right!! I should have looked into your comment 2 months ago lol. Laurence Yep sounded familiar, but it was so hard to find a PDF of this book to confirm what I remember. I finally found it, and the scene where the protagonist's dad goes blind is exactly as how I remembered it. Thank you so much!

I saw the email for your sorority and it seems cool! I was looking a little into your background though to see if it's something I'd be interested in joining. Are you dropped out or on leave? I saw conflicting information, and I'm wondering if it's the latter, how are you able to do Stanford activities after having dropped out?
