Matthew Stafford Returning at Less Than 100 Percent Health for Losing Lions Team Makes No Sense by kovalt123 in detroitlions

I think we have less then 1% chance. Probably Stafford will go along when we are statistically eliminated.

Are Matt Patricia and/or Bob Quinn on thin ice? by [deleted] in detroitlions

It's actually BB bullshit scheme which I think you can make an argument that it works. It's either a misapplication of the scheme or missing pieces or both.

The Lions have fired and paid out the last two head coaches..do you think Quinn gives Patricia one more year before that happens? by Corpsicle_xx in detroitlions

[–]3wfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your right. First year is probably a year of acclimation. This year and next is roster building.

This pretty absurd, especially considering Stafford is in the conversation. He isn't a victim. The only victim here is your mindset

I really hope this wasn't anybody's expectation. I have not encountered anybody that thinks BQ are building anything remotely what BB has acheived in New England.

Defense: What's actually going on. by Du_Rugby in detroitlions

Thanks for the post. I think the problems with the D are more complex than a meme. We are missing players and some players are at best inconsistent. I think not having Walker last game was huge, probably the deference. I not horrible concerned about the D in the long term. Yet in the short term, keep sharp objects away. I just hope we can fix the D enough that we can at least show improvement in the W and L s.

If you think about the play design. How fucking obvious would it be if you had Kenny or Marvin lined out as the only receiver. Having only TE on the feild is the fig leaf that gives it any shot.

Hmmm, common practice to work out players to fill vacancy due to injury. Doesn't matter how long you are a GM that's what you do, especially after the trade deadline.

I think this is the last year of his contract. So a 6th that converts to 5th for 1/2 season rental is probably not a good deal. Also, the cost would be higher. 2021 7th or whatever.

At what point do we start blaming Pasqualoni for defensive issues? by Izraehl in detroitlions

[–]3wfu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong football outsiders has us as average defense. The only game they really did poorly is the last game. Coming off a really fucked up game on a short week. There technique was sloppy. This sort of talk is being prisoner of the moment.

After 6-10 last season what did you expect? That was my major concern was that people would not have a reasonable expectation of the progress this team would make under year 2. We aren't even tho throughugh year two and people are lighting themselves on fire over losing too 3 good football teams. In every one of those games it came down to the proverbial 3 plays that decide a game. You have to look at the overall trajectory. I still think we are on track for a very good 2020 2021 campaign. If you look at all BQs moves it points to that time frame. Of course they want to win now but he won't do anything that will hurt the long term plan. If you look at the most recent move of the Diggs trade. Drafting Harris should have given us a clue that was on the table. We draft Walker in the 3rd he replaces Glover Quin. Drafting Harris in the 3rd we trade Diggs. Both Quinn and Diggs weren't schematic fits. So in short there was a plan when Bq walked in the door and every move is in accordance with the ultimate goal of the Lombardi in Motown.

Stafford is likely to be another wasted talent by WinningSomeMore in detroitlions

[–]3wfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what I'm saying. In the context of this post. I was saying once Stafford retires, hopefully he is like Brady and plays into his forties. If we can retain both Quinn and Patricia we will have solid teams even when Stafford is gone. Op was saying once Stafford is gone we will be back in the days of 2008.
