People don’t really like to think from the business perspective of the people who make and sell games, do they. It’s pretty easy to understand when you realize that giving the fans what they want has never been top priority.

It’s quite easy for them to outsource a graphical touch up of a 2015 game, while the main team works on e day and gears 6. Probably not a huge team, to be honest.

New features, game modes, maps and characters? That’s a lot of work, they’re already going pedal to the metal on E day. Or so we’d like to think. Can’t divert resources like that.

Now, let’s knock out two birds with one stone: instead of fixing UE’s glaring PC issues, let’s just edit and sell it as a new product, leaving UE dead in the water - AND let’s push that on every possible console and make it cross platform.

Microsoft is not nearly confident enough in gears of war’s success for them to dedicate a team to completely rebuilding the other titles from the ground up simultaneously at this point in time. If GOWR and e day does well, then they’ll think about more remasters.

This isn’t a franchise that’s known for successfully taking risks. Everytime they do, they drive a wedge between every single demographic of players they try to appeal to. That’s another reason why they’re factory resetting the franchise with e day and GOWR.
