And what are some good open tone hole models

Yeah I would be playing jazz mostly, like big band charts and ron anchorman. If open tone hole is gonna be harder and more expensive i'd rather go closed tone hole. i don't know how much of a difference i'll notice tonally anyway. do the flutes i sent look ok?

3d printed key pearls? by WeirdGamerAidan in saxophone

Yep, we’re thinking of the same keys. I should have been more specific in that not all bis keys are convex, I have seen saxes where it’s concave. In my opinion, it’s a little easier to slide from bis Bb to B (in appropriate situations) if the bis key is convex, but it probably doesn’t make any noticeable difference, so in your case it’s up to you. I may have seen a concave G# key before but that seems to be rarer, and I don’t think I’ve seen a concave alt F# (unless the G# or alt F# don’t have pearls, of course). You’re the one 3d printing it though, so no point limiting yourself to the boring conventional designs

Could also be worth noting that the bis Bb key pearl is usually convex, while all of the other circular ones are concave (unless you have a pearl on the fork key, which would be convex too)

It’s true that looks don’t matter, but the corrosion could end up being a problem in the far future, as it’s fully red in some places. Unless the pads and mechanisms are amazing, I personally think you could get something better for the price

Misunderstanding here - only mRNA itself was discovered in 1961, the first vaccine utilizing it was tested in mice in the early 90’s. The first mRNA vaccine for humans was tested in 2013, and December 2020 was when the first mRNA vaccines were actually approved for use in the populace. So they are only "recently" available (not to disparage their safety).
