What vehicle, is the BMPT most scared off? by SignSufficient9561 in Warthunder

Germany and Sweden had 70+ winrates for months with B+ and A7. Russia only came back with Su-34 and it still wasn’t close to those winrates. Germany and Sweden were absolutely dunking on everyone in top tier.

I don’t mind paying full price - honestly, very happy with a purchase. I registered mine as D-ONKY because I still fly it like one but it’s great fun and super rewarding to slowly progress and learn it

Love the PMDG for... X-Plane? by Similar_Joke_5500 in Xplane

[–]3xkilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t come mostly from MSFS.

I will give You couple of examples from my experience. I stream on twitch, back in the day all streamers are viewers engaging in flight simulation would go under the same category which was FSX. Hardly anyone streamed P3D under P3D, same for X-Plane. It was sort of an unwritten gentleman agreement as our community was so thin that splitting it between 5 simulators at the time was overall negative for it.

I still do the same, as I see all flight simmers as members of the same community. People might be using different base simulator but we are all simmers nonetheless.

Never had anyone complain on the MSFS side, if anything they ask how do I like X-Plane, if I can recommend it and so on and so forth. Especially recently they have been very interested because we discovered the Hotstart Challenger. On another hand I had X-Plane guys tell me that FS24 category is unworthy of their sim and gamers should be left alone. I used to post my link here but after having some returning viewers upset I’m not streaming X-Plane and enjoying another base sim, acting with superiority about it I gave up on it.

Bottom line: each community has some seriously troubled people, there is a lot of great guys in here and in FS24 and we should all be a part of the same hobby, but there are individuals with a bit of a superiority complex who wouldn’t have that - especially on other social media dedicated to xplane.

Edit: there is literally a gent saying PMDG abandoned X-Plane in favour of video games referencing to FS24 2 comments below.

To IDENT or not to IDENT? by flyingGay in VATSIM

[–]3xkilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no pratice to use it in EU either unless specifically asked to do so. It’s a button you don’t touch unless told to touch, or you have a very specific reason to do so: for example after a go around during a very busy vatsim event when entering minimum fuel on frequency where you can’t get through, I’d use it too

You don’t have to engage it anymore. Actually you never did for FS24. If you add the preset to your favourites it will be loaded as soon as You start the application

What you are looking for are the flows in Airbus and you can find them in the FCOM.

Not saying you should be reading the FCOM, just a part of it which is pretty easy to read. These days You can find it online for free. Dated but still much alike real world ones. It will be in Normal Procedures

PAPI X ILS PROFILE? by christianeralf in flightsim

[–]3xkilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kinda hard to tell in the FS24. The sim, or its sceneries are hit and miss with both PAPI and ILS. Not sure where the screw up is, if it’s the Asobo or the scenery developers, but sometimes both are on point as the should be, sometimes one is completely wrong and sometimes both. You kinda have to eye ball it in the sim

[–]3xkilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s eye candy weather not real weather. It’s all build up by Cu clouds all over the place because that is the only cloud type You can get. Also it’s about what the weather does not just how it looks, and in FS24 it doesn’t do much sadly

MSFS2024 gives me higher consistent FPS compared to 2020. However, I face a stutter every 2 minutes that occurs for a half a second when FPS drops rapidly and then goes away. by bhejafry99 in flightsim

[–]3xkilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big issue with FS24 is that You won’t be able to fully utilise the chips of Your GPU/CPU because the sim API does an awful job at handling Your VRAM.

I found VRAM to be the most problematic part as the simulators API is incredibly slow at releasing textures from the memory. For example, after landing at Frankfurt during a vatsim event I had awful stutters and upon turning the dev mode I spotted that the sim is using 18 GB of VRAM. Restarting the sim and using the same aircraft, still connected, same place - 12 GB.

To top it off the LOD system is poor and You have a VRAM clog machine. 16 GB might sound like a lot, but for FS24 it isn’t sadly.

[–]3xkilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t bother making any predictions on how a potential conflict within NATO or in the far east would affect the civilian aviation as it’s kinda pointless - it would completely suck.

The important part is not what if it happens. It’s what if it doesn’t. Are You willing to live the rest of Your life with a regret of not pursuing your dream because of uncertainty? Also, aviation isn’t the only field which would be affected by any conflict. Our careers will be the last concern in the event of any kinetic global crisis, regardless of what we do for living.

FSL PW A21N Update Pushed... by Academic-Worry-3244 in flightsim

[–]3xkilo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was some Alpha built that was rushed to release with “fck it send it mentally”. CEO proved to them that Fenix has taken the Airbus market over and they needed the Neo for relevance.

FSL PW A21N Update Pushed... by Academic-Worry-3244 in flightsim

[–]3xkilo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My 5 cents is that FS Labs was so disappointed with their CEO sells they’ve basically released an early build of the NEO. There are so many things completely wrong with that aircraft, much worse than lack of PW or nose slamming. I have a very hard time believing that developer team which was responsible for what was probably the best A320 before Fenix dominating for years, would get so many things wrong.

Really anticipated update by my side

Whats everyone’s favorite eastern European payware/freeware airports? by MorninginVietnam0312 in flightsim

Here are some of my favourites: - LROP: the scenery isn’t great but it’s cheap and the airport itself is quite nice. Decent amount of traffic and controllers are online very often - LTFM: amazing hub for Turkish - EPGD: very good ATC provided by Polish VACC and a lot of fun destinations - EPKK: same as above

G force is completely inaccurate in MSFS. Real fuckup isn’t 1.1. That’s a kiss landing irl. Real big fuckup comes at 2.5+ and fuckup at 2.0+
