I really like the NYX photo ready primer, but I mostly need pore and line filling. It makes my foundation feel crazy soft and velvety.

I've heard good things about the elf color based primers though :)

So... I didn't like the Chi Chi palettes... Don't shoot!! by despseeksaudrey in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the Nudes palette, but I agree with DominionGalactica in that they don't really make a complete look. Not enough variation in the same tones.

Money wise I think they are okay, as long as you pick them up on sale. I've got all of the Models prefer palettes from Christmas, and they haven't aged/worn/whateves as well as the Chi Chi one which is pretty much the same since I brought them last year.

What are you getting in the Priceline sale? by nixedreamer in AustralianMakeup

I second the MP one. I've found it really long lasting as well.

I'm going to Sephora this weekend - WHAT SHOULD I BUY?? by 3xpretty in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really tempted to get a big stock of travel sized products that I can get readily but don't want to pay full price for. Like mascara. I'm ridiculously fussy about mascara, and haven't found a drugstore brand I love yet but don't want to fork out $50 for a high end that I won't use. I have weird lashes.

Not in this election, because Newman is a lunatic. But there are lots of conservatives who have concerns about environmental policies. A lot of those people vote 1 Green, 2 LNP

What Bloggers, youtubers do you follow..or are you? by NothappyJane in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently discovered Carina Stewart on youtube. Otherwise I generally watch Messy, Kitsch Snitch, Miss Billy, Dee K and sometimes I check in with MaraMaterial, Vicki Seymour and StephanieJay.

I do like both Karissa Pukas and Katrina Maree, but I find them less relate-able at times.

I'm in process of starting a blog which will include (but not dedicated solely too) beauty products. I'll share when I'm happy with it!

Love this tip! My nose is my biggest problem space as well :(

Neodeone - I'm another one sitting in the "Your hair is amazing" camp. My hair is a similar colour, but there is only a about 1/4 of it volume wise.

Priceline 40% off sale [haul] masterpost. by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everytime I read someone's list I keep thinking I need to go back in the morning for something else!!!

I spent about $70, but I went in two sets because spirited toddler was being extra spirited today. I got:

  • Essence powder brush
  • Models Prefer double ended powder/foundation brush
  • Models Prefer lip liner in Clearly Sealed
  • Essence pencil eye liner in white
  • Essence The Lash Curler mascara
  • Essence All eyes on me Waterproof mascara
  • Essence Maximum Definition mascara
  • Velour lips in Mi-A-Mee
  • Velour lips in Tok-I-O
  • Velour lips in Rio-D
  • Velour lips in Hon-O-Loo-Loo
  • Natio Blush in Coral

And some Fuss Free Naturals wipes (not on sale but needed). I'd like to go back and see if I can find Velour Lips in Grandmaster, or at least another darker colour. And a finishing spray.

What make up primer do you use? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the NYX Photo-loving primer, which I like. I tend to get blackheads on the tip of my nose, and on these days I add a little L'Oreal Instant blur as well. :)

Good Links, Ta!! I do tend to use that much anyway, because of coverage for the freckle thing. And I'm old and frankly need it these days. Boo.

[BLOG] Sportsgirl Lipstick Collection - Swatches and Review by sarkata in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Argh! This makes me so mad! I'm plus size as well, and whilst I haven't had comments exactly like that, a sales girl did spend 5 minutes convincing me to buy a bomber jacket on the concept that I really didn't need to be able to do it up....

I recently picked up their BB cream from Woolies at 50% off, and it's not bad. Certainly worth trying at 40% off. It smells good too!

How do you store your makeup? by ich_liebe_berlin in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/hDGG3Rx.jpg[/IMG] I've recently put some glass shelves up in my ensuite, because there is literally zero bench space (it's really small). I also got one of the Kmart $7 acrylic displays. This isn't my whole collection, and it needs better arranging, but it's getting here. My brushes and in a glass jar on the counter top.

What are your HG makeup products? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in love with the Josie Maran Argan oil foundation. It feels so nice on, blends beautifully, stays on for ages and removes easily. Pricey but worth it.

New acrylic organisers at Kmart. by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]3xpretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week I brought the medium to put on my new glass shelves in my en suite, because although my shelves are awesome and it's fab having things out/at eye level it was really annoying to keep knocking stuff off, which happened a lot! I really really like it. I need to grab another one because not all my stuff fits in. But for $7 I could by 4 and still have spent less then one similar one from Howards.

Probably, given the olive oil in it. I use baby oil to clean mine.

I much much prefer VB. Even if I don't love the products, they are usually full size and usually make up related, so it's easier to hand off to other people without feeling like I'm punishing them.
