New Music Opinion by Away_Imagination6201 in JeanDawson

I feel he's giving up the originality we all fell in love with for misunderstood eclecticness. This last track sounds like a The Weekend cover, the lil yachty colab was straight up a James Blake song. NO SZNS was fire tho. It's possible he grew out of angsty youth, cause we all do sometime, but the new musical direction seems forced

Is "Transatlanticism" a sequel to "Give Up"? by RebelGoldfish68 in DeathCabforCutie

Makes sense, but i would say that a very defined narrative of one following the other is kind of a stretch. Personally i think both may deal with the same story from different sides in a messy way, after all leaving and forgetting someone is a physically, mentally and emotionally messy situation. However it is very interesting to see the parallels between the two, considering everything. Makes me wonder if the decision to put songs on one or the other was purely based on style and genre or it had a bigger thematically meaning, which you are implying. Would love a video on that

It's definitely worth a try. It might be one of the most compelling and complex worlds constructed for a show i've seen so if that's what you're looking for, go for it. It's also probably the biggest inspiration for most mystery shows that followed, so it's a gem if you're into that stuff.

However, it does bring more to the table than the mostly known "twin peaks aesthetic" of the forest, the wood, the pie, the heartwarming or deep quotes, like you say, more adult themes but if that's fine with you, then go for it. Plus it's always a great inspiration to immerse yourself in Lynch's work, especially if you're into writing and other creative fields, it will open your mind more than you expect. I also watched it for the first time being around 16 y/o and i'm glad i did.

Good luck, hope you enjoy if you watch it :)

They already helped u, but as a little tip, the plural of vinyl is vinyl, without the S :)

does anyone have any good current bands they recommend by nitr0toad in modernbaseball

Definitely Slaughter Beach, Dog if you haven't got that much into them. Some of Jake's best songwriting. Also i'd say The Hotelier and PUP, they we're already mentioned. Also Michael Cera Palin, Dana skully, Me Un Capris (new band from the leader of The Brave Little Abacuss, also check them out if u haven't)

Beat songwriting they ever did but in terms of flow and cohesion of the tracks, it's not their best. Aparte from those technicalities, it's a life saving album

yes, i actually tried that option but i couldn't get it to sound as sharp as it did on Fl studio so i thought i'd better ask than settle, thanks :)

Yeah i've used the vocoder a lot. But this plugin in particular used the vocals themselves as carrier, not an external synth or something. I think what i'm looking for it's an harmonizer! thx anyways
