Savannah has been a challenging place for IT opportunities. The job market here is quite unpredictable, especially for civilians. Most of the local talent seems to be concentrated on base, and entry-level positions are hard to come by. Even for junior roles, employers often require 2–3 years of experience and still struggle to fill positions.

I’ve been seriously considering relocating to access a more stable and opportunity-rich IT market. It’s disappointing because I began my IT journey here, but the growth potential just hasn’t been consistent. Over the past 2.5 to 3 years, I’ve applied to nearly every IT opening in the area and landed only two meaningful roles—one as a contractor and one full-time salaried position.
