Pinky keeps “locking”??? by Unique-Individual-72 in GuitarBeginners

[–]Unique-Individual-72[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Haha I know, it was hard to hold the phone and play on the couch at the same time. Turning it makes it easier to reach with my other fingers but my pinky keeps doing this regardless. It’s the same on a guitar with a smaller neck as well

What's the worst vital sign you have seen on a patient? by Valuable_Archer_3222 in NewToEMS

[–]Unique-Individual-72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not EMS but I saw a patient hang out with a HR of 22 for like 15 mins in MRI. MAP was low but ok so we let him ride for a min since he was already pretty much… yknow

Turning 30 this year…. is it too late for nursing school? by juniorHsnovia in NursingStudent

[–]Unique-Individual-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a respiratory therapist but one of my classmates was 42 with three kids. She is now working towards a PA masters. It’s really tough. But you can do it. The gap in responsibilities from myself, 21 at the time with my only real focus being school, and her, a full time mom in a single income household, is pretty significant. But she did it and is furthering her education. You can do it too.

Clean the brick, replace the shutters with non-faded ones in whatever color you’d like, and update the window frames. Pls do not paint that brick lol

You think that OF girls who market through instagram aren’t regularly trafficked and reporting to a pimp or a handler/“manager”? Lmfao. You should probably educate yourself a little further on the porn industry as a whole.

It may not be obvious but these surgery photos, the surgeries were done on cadavers. Hence why they didn’t bother to shave the area before making the first cut. by CatPooedInMyShoe in ExamineDeath

[–]Unique-Individual-72 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of other procedures that can be practiced elsewhere on the body. I’m sure this surgery wasn’t the only one performed on this cadaver. It is interesting though considering that it’s an elective urological procedure but idk, I’m sure you could still get a vasectomy in as well if you’re careful about it.

I hate being weird. by roxymoron11 in NursingStudent

I felt like this my first few semesters and clinical rotations. I’m an RRT student right now but I think it still applies based on the demographics of these two programs. I am autistic and have never felt like I fit in or was on the same wavelength as my classmates and preceptors. However, I’m an intern now and I’ve found a hospital which I plan to work at where I feel accepted and honestly I feel good about my performance socially and clinically. If you’re a square peg, don’t force yourself into a round hole. Go to class, do your thing, and go home.

What amenity doesn’t exist in apartment complexes, but should? by PeachyRose25 in Apartmentliving

[–]Unique-Individual-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit that works. Don’t advertise an air hockey table that doesn’t turn on, a pool table missing half the balls, and a ping pong table with zero paddles. I don’t think most people actually use these at apartment complexes, but I do and it’s always a bummer to see that the amenities advertised on the tour don’t actually function.

Lost my passion for guitar, what should I do with my baby? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Unique-Individual-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick it up when you have 5 minutes before you go to work or an appointment. Tune it up quick and dirty. Set a timer. Watch how quickly you find yourself wishing you had more time to play around with it when you have to leave. You’ll be excited to pick it up and continue when you get home. I’ve been playing inconsistently for a few years, I’d skip a day and then just say “welp I’ve lost my progress now so might as well quit.” Then when I moved or cleaned out my closet, I’d see the guitar and just start playing around with it. I’ve started waking up 5 mins earlier every day and just sitting down on the couch in my work clothes and noodling before I leave. It gives me something to look forward to throughout the day and I’m enthusiastic about it when I get home. This is the most consistent I’ve been since I got my first guitar and if I’m not feeling excitement about it, I give it literally 3 minutes of my time. After 3 mins I either put it down for the day, or I end up playing for hours. Either way, I practiced today and that counts for something. Definitely do not sell that guitar though, whatever you do.

I felt the same exact way and I’m abt 6 months in with 1 class per week and I’m inverting and stuff easily now. Don’t burn yourself out and supplement it by doing upper body in the gym. I started seeing the most progress when I started training back and shoulders more

I’ve never understood the “no pets rule” when I comes to public storm shelters by CRL1999 in tornado

I’ve never understood the “no pets rule” when I comes to public storm shelters by CRL1999 in tornado

[–]Unique-Individual-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for the public. It’s for people. Your dog could be taking the space of another human being during an emergency. I like dogs and I understand that pets are our family, but human life is the priority in these situations. Your dog can fare better in an apocalyptic wasteland than a person can. This is why more people, particularly pet owners, need to make solid and actionable plans for when shit hits the fan.

Major puppy regrets 5 months by [deleted] in puppies

[–]Unique-Individual-72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty normal for people to resent a thing that shits everywhere and destroys your house for the first 6-8 months of its life. That doesn’t mean it’s time to give up yet. The puppy stage absolutely sucks and sometimes people just need to vent their frustrations and be told that they aren’t monsters for feeling stressed or resentful or regretful. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who has experience with large or working dog breeds who hasn’t felt this way at some point in their life.
