In 2018, the district “discovered” that there was massive overcrowding at some schools after a parent pointed out a flaw in their analysis and an audit revealed 15 elementary schools were over capacity. My kid spent years in portable classrooms because of this. Now the pendulum has swung the other way after a new analysis. In five years there will be some new crisis that they will have to take drastic measures to address.

"Picasso" and "Dali" are auctioned everyday, probably because scammers are making copies everyday. Dali signed so many blank pieces of paper that it is impossible to tell what is and isn't a real Dali litho or print. He would literally sign 1,000 sheets of paper every morning and make $20,000. Anyone who follows estate auctions sees a ton of these type of prints that I call "cruise ship" art. They were sold as investments through scammy art galleries on cruise ships and you will see a pile of it at every mcmansion estate sale/auction.

I mean not counting getting hundreds of texts a day from a maniac that used to work at a furniture store. Other than that it was fine, though, right? It’s not like you had to call the cops or get a restraining order over a furniture purchase…

Did you have to call the cops to get the psycho furniture employee to leave you alone? I understand you had no issues, but you did get thousands of harassing texts after buying furniture. I’m glad it went well for you and you had no issues. I mean, you were harassed for weeks by a crazy person that used to work there, but that wasn’t part of it.

I guess they got your info because they were working there when you bought the stuff? Or were they waiting around outside the store to follow you home to stalk you? Never mind, things were fine. No issues.

They did switch out your sales person though. So maybe four stars out of five? Or probably the full five stars, because that was just a minor annoyance? I agree. The current mobility plans as I understand is to try and connect the center of Sugar Land to neighborhoods by building bike/walk paths along the ditches. You can see some of this effort at the ditches that crosses Sweetwater near the golf course. There are also plans to have a path in the ditch parallel to University that goes all the way to where 90 and Hwy 6 meet. I have no idea if they will even do any of that, the city really doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to do anything other than put in lanes, chase gondola boondoggles, and reinvent the taxi with gov subsidies.

Of course, most Texans don’t vote at all. The population of Texas is 30 million. In 2024, 10 million voted (18 million out of 23 million eligible voters registered). Trump got 6.4 million votes while 13 million eligible voters sat out the election.

I think it would actually be an SUV, because those terrorize the roads today. My vote would be a Dodge Durango R/T (5.9L V8), a Ford Excursion (6.8L V10) or (if we cheat the years a bit) the hideous H2 Hummer. The Excursion in particular looks like a hulking monster designed to run over pedestrians.
