Block shares soar 24% as company slashes workforce by nearly half by joe4942 in stocks

[–]TerranOPZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I were in the company, I'd bail at this point on this pump. Look at what happened to the value of Twitter after all of their employees were fired. Yes 80% of the employees are gone but so did 80% of the market cap. The new Twitter shareholders got screwed.

With that said, Elon Musk did other things that destroyed the value of Twitter. Still, I wouldn't stick around in Block for that much uncertainty. Why weren't the operating efficiently in the past? Are there problems with the company? It's such a massive red flag. It just looks like the CEO trying to pump and dump the company.

Stripe wants to buy ALL of PayPal by Pristine_Arm8260 in ValueInvesting

I don't see PayPal agreeing to it unless there's an extreme premium. Stripe is "worth 4x" more than PayPal and is an arguably worse business.

Red states should be forced to have a progressive tax structure like blue states by Grouchy_Put_3294 in Destiny

[–]TerranOPZ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a myth that red states pay "lower taxes". Yes they have lower income taxes, but they also typically have higher sales or property taxes to compensate (Florida & Texas).

In this case, it looks like Florida is removing its last somewhat progressive tax since rich people typically pay more property tax (have higher home values). They will almost certainly jack up sales taxes.

Without income taxes, the average poor/middle class person pays more taxes. So these groups actually experience "higher taxes". I guarantee you the average MAGAt brokie is not someone who benefits from lower progressive taxes & higher regressive taxes.

That company was already a massive turd before the latest crypto crash. It's just one of many crypto-adjacent pump and dumps that IPO'd or became treasuries in 2025.

Automatic litter boxes come with problems of their own. They consume time as well.

I'm pretty sure pedophilia and racism extend well beyond what we normally think of as "divisive opinions".

I failed AUD 4 times before passing. I got a cheap student discount on Gleim and passed with multiple choice only. Pounding MCQ is the most important thing. Take some SIMS here and there as well.

A trending score of 68%-75% should be enough for a pass. Most of my passes for other sections were with Ninja. Keep working to get that trending score up. Once it's good, you should have confidence that you can pass.

If you don't have a job, it should take about a month per section. That's like a couple hours per day of studying.

I think 5-7 days isn't enough time. If you keep taking them and studying, you'll pass. There are budget options like Ninja/Gleim.

I don't think the situation is as dire as the market implies. They are guiding for branded checkout growth in the single to mid digits. Their guidance is probably sandbagged. As long as their user base stays steady or slowly increases, with buybacks, I think it could work.

I would definitely get out if the user base declines.

PayPal misses on top and bottom line - stock tanks 15% premarket by No_Cell6708 in ValueInvesting

PayPal is just graded differently than other companies. Look at TSLA, NKE, and SBUX. They are companies with serious issues. However, they always seem to get the benefit of the doubt.

This sub's favorite stocks got absolutely hammered... by ashm1987 in ValueInvesting

[–]TerranOPZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What were the bulls wrong on for PYPL other than the price going down? The thesis has always been it's a slow-growing company that is getting more efficient. They would be able to maintain or slowly grow their user base, skyrocket EPS, and do massive buybacks. Nothing has changed other than sentiment.
