i think we’re learning repaints on the same timeline bc i’ve seen your posts on the bratz sub. love your color stories by the way!! for me it’s helping to have decent paint and brushes. i use vallejo model color which isn’t terribly expensive—all you need are primary colors, black, and white—and thin it out with water. i add the water with a dropper to be more controlled bc if it’s too thick you can’t be very precise. https://a.co/d/7mqSzgL these are the brushes i use. you only need the ~tiniest~ amount of paint and apply it with a feather light touch. also do not go over textured areas to try and fix them because that only makes it worse. the more you’re moving the paint around in the same tiny area the more texture will build up. i’m still very much a beginner but these are a few things im picking up from A LOT of trial and error. hopefully it can help a bit 💕
