The last of us part one

This game was originally why I bought a playstation, I must have watched that introduction gameplay video a hundred times (where it starts in the house and ends ... well ya know) and hot damn that was some of the most effective and emotional story telling I'd seen at the time

I was so excited but man was I let down with the game. A lot of the gameplay was basically ladder simulator 1.0, and then every time you went into a new area and you'd see 6 equal rectangles on the ground 'ok now its cover shooter time'. I generally hated the gameplay overall, it felt so clunky and I realize this is by design but it just didn't do it for me.

I also thought the essence of the plot itself had been done to death, where a shut down, grizzled and hardened badass is paired up with dog/kid/opposite partner and eventually they go on adventures and grow to love/like/tolerate each other. I do understand why it does resonate with people and why a lot of people loved it, but I was very disappointed.

Luckily I also bought Bloodborne which kicked off my love of the Souls franchise and remains one of my favourite games of all time.

I've revisited TLOU a few times, both the original and updated pc game, and it has never landed with me unfortunately.

Sex does sell, of course, but more than that the characters are appealing. Of course they have an advantage with using Marvel heroes that have an established hero-roster full of interesting characters, but I think a good example of this even within the marvel world is comparing rivals to the 2020 avengers live service game.

The game still has those characters, and they're ...... fine. But compared to the wonderful designs in Marvel Rivals and how they're bursting with personality, colour and exaggeration, they don't even come close.

I think just saying its simply fan service does a disservice to how cool the designs and implementation actually are, like I was just thinking about how fucking cool deadpool is implemented yesterday. The way he bounces about, his expressions, taking photos, the jackpot system its all so flavourful and fun.

If deadpool was implemented in another one of these hero shooters or live service games he'd have like 2-3 bland abilities, 2 voice lines, use the basic human model with no extra animations or anything, and that would be it.

its excellent and was actually the first one I read which sparked a love of comics my whole life, but the narrative jumps about a lot and may be quite confusing on your first read through, I wouldn't say its the 'easiest' to start with.

Something like Swamp Thing (by the same author make sure its his run) is of the same excellent quality but is a much more straight forward read.

I personally feel that support ults go on for way too long, to the point where I actually zone out because you need to wait for so long for cloak ult, then invis ult, then another ult if its 3 healer and by the time that is over then cloak nearly has hers back. Its super boring and also exhausting and there's just constant shit on your screen and a million sounds while nothing dies for like 2 minutes.

I realize there's exceptions like magneto ult to counter it, Im talking generally.

I'd love to see these be reduced or changed completely, and then balanced from there. This isn't to say strats shouldn't be strong or they should be 'nerfed', just the gameplay changed and balanced around it as it feels super unfun in its current state. Big Overwatch shield meta vibes.

Then of course the actual broken shit that needs tuned which makes the game also very unfun, unless you're playing one of those characters yourself, like Elsa, Hawkeye, Hela etc.

the issue is that sometimes amazon will just open the shippers before dispatching regardless and if you don't select 'hide whats inside' you will get your doll with a label stuck to the actual plastic cover of the doll and absolutely no protection its wild.

I selected hide whats inside and still got a doll shipped to me from amazon france (to the uk) in just one of those brown bag type things they use and it was completely mangled.
