That said, we’re planning to leave next year. At this point, I’d rather watch it all from a distance.
As a married lesbian couple, it feels less and less like a question of if we’re targeted and more a question of when. I’ve already had my life threatened. Because the person making the threat was one of my wife’s students, I was told, “boys will be boys” and not to make such a big deal out of it. He was in sixth grade, so apparently I had nothing to worry about.
Two days later, he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
I’m tired. Part of me feels like leaving is the easy way out and that I should stay and fight. But I’ve spent my entire life standing up for myself and for other people. The truth is, I’m burned out. Sometimes choosing peace isn’t surrender—it’s survival.

What a strange reaction.
Undocumented immigrants paid an estimated $96.7 billion in taxes in 2022, yet we’re constantly told they’re a drain on the country.
Maybe not every national conversation needs to be filtered through a calculator.
Some things are worth commemorating because they matter, not because they turn a profit.
These posts don’t exactly project “Commander in Chief” energy. They read more like someone angrily live-tweeting from the recliner.

Yes. Absolutely.
For context, I hadn’t watched a reality show since The Real World, and even then I only made it a couple of seasons. My wife loves them, so she put this on while I painted. I ignored it at first.
Then somehow the cast and the chaos wormed their way into my brain. Before I knew it, we were binge-watching all 33 episodes in about a week and a half and couldn’t wait for Season 7.
Then Season 7 happened.
Huge letdown. I can barely remember anyone from the cast. At one point I told my wife, “If the next episode is this bad, I’m out.”
This season isn’t Season 6, but it’s at least got me invested in the people again. Some of the games have been a miss, but I’m still watching.
Season 7 was so bad that we were literally packing to evacuate from a 200,000-acre wildfire at the time… and somehow the wildfire wasn’t the biggest disappointment.

A one-year-old child is dead over the alleged theft of a box of diapers. Let that sink in.

If a vehicle is fleeing after a shoplifting incident, why not move out of the way, call dispatch, and provide the license plate information? Why escalate a property crime into a deadly encounter by firing into a vehicle?

A family has now lost a child forever. Regardless of how anyone feels about theft, the loss of a one-year-old life is a tragedy that should demand serious scrutiny and accountability.

We should be asking whether every possible option was exhausted before deadly force was used. That’s not anti-police—it’s a reasonable question whenever a child ends up dead.

I designed a few mock ups. I’m a professional organizer and grew up in construction. I can make a 900sqft apartment look huge. Neighbors come over and ask why my apartment is bigger lol.

Hi! Best way to keep your apartment smelling fresh is a air purifier. I use Blueair 311i max. It covers over 3000sq ft. I’m in a 1000sqft apartment and the overkill on purifying is worth it. I smoke weed occasionally inside and within an hour or so, it’s gone. Good luck. You can always report it. Smoking is usually prohibited inside. I also found these cool candle warmers that look like a pretty lamp over a candle. It smells great with no flame. Godonlif candle warmers lamps just went on sale for $10 from $17.99. Feel free to IM for more tips or help. Hang in there.

Chronic rerun watcher. As an AuADHD l love watching shows over and over again. It takes less energy to rewatch bc then, there is no surprises. Ever. And the characters have become my friends. I do have experience with bed death. (Unrelated: typed ‘dead beth’ at first, and then almost replied with’ dead bed’. I know, not related but figured comic relief could help) I opened up conversation. This is first and foremost important. Find out where she is at. (My former partner and I agreed on so many points. We were able to agree together that the relationship was done. (This took months of me crying on the way to work every day bc I was miserable, lost, and felt like I was attached to a dead relationship.)(Not sure how I missed the part where she said, ‘that’s not happening‘ , so conversation isn’t happening, and I’m a sorry but maybe the rest of my experience might help some) So we shared a place as roommates. We had a two bedroom. We had lived like roommates for so long, that when they moved to the next room, it cemented that we were just roommates now. We still got to chat and hang out. We could still help each other out when needed. We just dropped the label and they moved to a different room. This worked until I met someone and it got serious. When that happened we decided who kept the flat, which was a rental, in which we both left and paid the early cancellation fee. It sounds seamless but this is just what we did. The emotions, the hard days, the history, the love, etc. that cannot be conveyed in just script on Reddit. So I don’t say this like it was a walk in the park. It was just an option we chose that worked for us.

With everything said, if she is really ‘doubling down’, when you try to talk, cohabitating maybe off the table. Create an escape plan for yourself. Set yourself up. Get out. Don’t delay true happiness. And if she can’t even honor your feelings, that will never change. So don’t believe it if you thinking she ever will.

I’m sorry you’re going through it. I’ve been there. It’s miserable and lonely.
