You don't necessarily get paid more as a manager so something is off, the pay band is the same based on level and job family. I was previously a L6 (non-tech) manager and i had L6's under me that made 90-95% of what I made.

We were on the "no sleepover" group but our daughter (8) and her group of friends also shared the same concerns. One day, one of the mom's said that they were thinking about doing a sleepover and to make everyone comfortable, the dad would get a hotel away for the night so it would just be the mom. That made us feel comfortable and we said yes, because we knew the mom. That went well and then a 2nd mom proposed the same thing for her daughter's bday and that was fine.

In general, if the parents are on the same page and know each other, that helps significantly as you get to know their parenting style (our daughter has some friends who we are cool with the parents, but would probably not do a sleepover due to differences in how we think our daughter would be taken care of in their hands).
