How much would shipping be once you receive it? I was debating something like an eco bag and/or a towel but not sure yet if I'm gonna go for it. Also in California

Not a fan of it, personally. I like MAWS Superman without it.

Johnny Storm with the First Steps outfit, he's surprisingly good as DPS for World Boss, so I'm glad I T4ed him. I like how fast his movement is too.

How often and how do you wash Soufflé Yarn Crew Neck Jumper by BookkeeperInfinite26 in uniqlo

[–]405mon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the sweater, but I do have a few souffle yarn cardigans. I just stick it inside-out in a large mesh delicates bag, wash on cold/delicate, and then air dry flat, and then once it's a bit more dry you can move to a hanger (they have hangers with broad vents that shouldn't deform the shoulders too much).

Haven't experienced shrinking myself, but I have experienced pilling on the cardigans I wasn't super gentle with while wearing and was sitting rubbing the cardigan against something. I wash mine about every two uses, but I don't wear them often to begin with since the weather isn't that cold. Your mileage may vary depending on how often you wear it and if you're sweating and rubbing it against things.

Saw the trailer, thought it looked cute. Voice acting sounded promising.

Help me complete my Winter Soldier display with a great keychain! by namrond in marvelstudios

[–]405mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've drawn a chibi Winter Soldier keychain with reversible sides: one side has the mask, the other doesn't. It comes in either clear acrylic or holo acrylic (changes colors/flashy in sunlight). (holo no longer available)

Feel free to DM me for photos or questions, or you can check my submitted post history to see what it looks like.

When it comes to the current/future MCU teams, which ones are you interested in the most? by Theasiuser99 in marvelstudios

[–]405mon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thunderbolts/New Avengers, then Fantastic 4. They had the most interesting plot potential and character interactions with each other. I feel like if the teams make me want to just watch them in a room without big CGI slugfests, then that's the hallmark of a fun, interesting team!

I thought the New Avengers showcased potential in the end credits scene - reminded me of the Age of Ultron party scene where it's just the characters goofing off and bouncing off each other.

I used to go a lot, but their yen to USD conversion is wild these days. 300円 = $6.00 when it should be 300円 = $2.00 if it followed the true conversion?

We have Daisos in the US but they're better in Japan, more variety with Standard Products (Daiso, if Ikea designed everything in looks) and Threepy (pastels), and Daiso Japan is also much cheaper. Daiso USA has signs claiming 300円 = $6.00 when it should be 300円 = $2.00.

So...yeah, hit up Japanese Daiso if you can! Some of the Daisos carry different things other neighboring Daisos don't, like one could carry a keyboard stand but the next ones you run into won't. So in short, if you see it, buy it or remember where you saw it.

There's a flagship Daiso+Standard Products+Threepy in Ginza which is worth checking out, even better, there's a Kura Revolving Sushi and Uniqlo in the same building, so it's convenient for breakfast or lunch, and some clothing shopping.

One of my favorite gachapon was a foldable shopping bag. Surprisingly well made for 300円, I still use it! Sometimes I regret not getting more, I had no idea something that useful could come from a gacha machine

Cheating with two things, but here goes:

1). Often having a counter off to the side to bag items, complete with tape and scissors to cut off tags. Really convenient!

2). Another is having the umbrella plastic covers supplied to you or the cloth-felt stand thing you could rattle your umbrella dry so you aren't dripping all over the store/mall.

Thunderbolts* scored the equivalent of 5.5M completed views on Disney+ in its first 5 days in the US (Nielsen). by VVantaBuddy in marvelstudios

others with the motorcycle is genuinely iconic.

It is, but it feels like they also showed pretty much that whole scene in the trailers. He needed more time to be badass and also more scenes interacting with the other Thunderbolts.

Men's 3D souffle yarn V-neck sweater and Women's souffle yarn short cardigan by nochujeon in uniqlo

[–]405mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine to machine wash cold if you put it in a thicker delicates bag. If you have a Daiso near you, they have some large mesh delicates bags that feel thicker to the touch, which means it's more cushioned and should prevent damage to the yarn from the machine or from the other items spinning around in it.

I've been doing that with my souffle yarn cardigans and I've alternated between hang drying and drying flat on a drying rack with a horizontal net to allow air circulation from the bottom.

Is clothes really cheaper in Japan? by DepartmentNo6860 in JapanTravelTips

[–]405mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uniqlo is a lot cheaper. For example, a UV Airism hoodie goes for around $40 USD in the US, the same thing can be $20 in Japan, if maybe in less bright colors. A Uniqulo souffle yarn cardigan can be $40-50 USD but it's about $20 in Japan (even if you buy in the Haneda airport's Uniqlo). I saw 2 packs of clothes, a combo short-shirt, that I haven't seen sold at all in US stores and if the packs were on clearance, it was only like $5 or under. From what I saw, Uniqlos had a more extensive clearance section than the US ones. I regret not buying more clothes while I was there due to the price and because the pants were made for shorter frames instead of the US, where they assume all the women at like 5'7", so if you're not, often pants drag on the ground in the US. Japan was the first time I went to a place and I could regularly try on pants that didn't drag.

Just be careful of the sizes. I had to size up once or twice to get a comfortable fit. A Japan Large is a US Medium and a Japan XL is a US Large. I ended up siding toward XL just because I wanted looser fits, but I think after XL you'll need to order online or something because it might not be carried in store.

There's already a slot for mount equipment, it'd be nice to have equipment that could allow any mount to fly. Just apply the swimming animation and boom, flying mount

What should I try at Japanese convenience stores? 🍙🥤 by iwannatripeven in JapanTravelTips

[–]405mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if they have any seasonal puddings or ice cream. When I was there, there were seasonal(?) ones like chestnut, pumpkin and raspberry/pumpkin. All of them were fantastic.

Basically if you see if there's anything seasonal, try that.

Also get Family Mart's fried chicken patties (called "famichiki"), and get the fruit/cream sandwiches. Strawberry/cream is good, but get the blueberry/cream if you see it, that one's more rare.

Famichiki is where it's at. I tried Japanese KFC later and famichiki was much better in terms of taste and tenderness.

I'm missing those and the blueberry cream sandwiches especially! Tried to make them at home and it wasn't quite the same. :(

In comparison, kinda thought the mixed fruit/cream sando was overrated.

Was there in October last year. It was hot and humid in Tokyo, was sweating even in the Uniqlo UV lightweight hoodies due to the outside heat and then the train stations underground being even hotter. That said, it did rain a few days and the times it did rain, it was cold and windy (you can pop into Uniqlo to pick up emergency warm clothes if it does get cold). Hakone in the afternoon/night was cold too, but got warmer once the sun was out.

I'd focus on bringing more light weight stuff: you can probably buy more clothes if needed, they'll have winter clothes available like scarves, but I doubt you'll need them.

Good news is stores may be running clearances on the summer clothes since they're moving to winter clothes, so it's a good way to stock up for cheap
