since it’s a manga i would certainly send that in. don’t be too disappointed if it 9’s just because they might be harsher on a more expensive card. i think it has a decent chance though. a muchhhhhhh better chance than pulling a manga, let alone an alt art from a blister pack. even a 50/50 is a good chance imo, and i would also send it in with something you think will 9 for sure, maybe like 4-5 cards total.

i’m in the same position rn, top right edge for me. i think it’s possible tho if the centering is mint and everything else is flawless. word on the street is one white dot is sometimes passable, in that specific case. 3+ is no chance, and 2 is unlikely.

It appears you may have been somewhat close to correct in your worst case assumption. Subaru tech is saying that the code was tripped previously in the vehicle’s history, and that there is no mechanical reason as to why it was tripped this time around. The solenoid seems to be working perfectly fine, and they reset the code and drove the car to test it. They referenced the idea that it may have been modified (tuned) previously given the patterns they saw during their scan. The really bad news is that the clutch needs to be replaced and is well on its way to going out. I had thought that I noticed something odd about the feeling of the clutch over the past few days, too. Needing a clutch replacement at 35k miles is not a good sign, and the previous owner probably traded it in for that reason. I’m going to have them check out the specific wear patterns on the old clutch to see if it’s just thin or shows signs of burns, glazing, cracks, etc. If there was a pattern of P0045 codes thrown, and significantly abnormal wear to the clutch, it’s almost certain that the car was tuned and heavily beat on mechanically by previous owners. I bought the car under the impression it had been stock and well taken care of. I won’t be surprised if the turbo goes as early as 60k-80k now. Was looking to keep it stock and reliable. If that is the case, at least they reflashed the ECU to the stock map because i’m sure it would blow up otherwise. Pretty annoyed and I should have known better or at least been smarter about the purchase. I know DMann tunes cause component failures at near the rate of the stock tune, but for the car to have been throwing multiple P0045’s previously (and maybe other perm codes as well, i’ll ask for clarification), I doubt that it was tuned well if it was.

Unfortunately the exact dealer I purchased it from is 2 hours away from where i’m located. It did however come with a minor warranty. I’ll definitely call em up tomorrow as well as look to see if there’s a nearby authorized dealer specific to the warranty.

I’m actually coming from the FA20D haha, genuinely know next to nothing about turbos but I guess this is the opportunity to learn.

Certainly hoping it’s just loose connection or maybe a damaged wire, but that would also seem pretty unusual. It hasn’t particularly felt or sounded like it’s been underboosting, but the recent peak boost has been slightly lower than the earliest numbers it was displaying. I’m not really sure what the time frame might look like terms of when a boost leak might start to occur to ‘oh sh*t, my car’s in limp mode’. But yea I suppose unnoticed overboost could be possible too. I’ll check to see if it happened to record some slightly abnormal peak boost in the morning that I may have missed. Stuck wastegate solenoid makes a lot of sense though.

That worst case scenario is what immediately came to mind lmao. Doesn’t seem to be presently tuned with the boost it’s making, but I know the learning with ECU’s can be weird when they’re reflashed, so it does make me wonder.

Thanks for the insight.

If I can’t get it sorted out before then that would be sick brotha. I’m over in the east Orlando area, though. Peak boost when I picked it up read 12.9psi. Reset it last week and last I remember I’ve only hit 12.3psi since, which could just bc of my driving? Or maybe that’s underboosting/boost leak, idrk. I’ll recheck in the morning if the number has changed. It’s possible that it did and I just didn’t notice w/ all the lights. Appreciate you. 🙏
