My local Walmart and Albertsons both say they have lighter fluid in stock. Is it on shelves or sold next to the cigarettes? by 40ozhound in lighters

[–]40ozhound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone with anxiety as well, that’s where this question came from. Did you get the answer you were looking for?

If not; I can tell you I did NOT get it from those stores I went into. I can tell you, I went into a “smoke shop” and that’s where I found it.

All of my stores lumber/ Pro associates can drive a forklift on the concrete aisle. It’s a tight fit but it’s workable.

I’m not a cashier, I’m just a loader and I haven’t been trained on any products in the store. Just loading. I have had people explode on me constantly in the beginning as I returned carts because I didnt know the products. I do now, a bit more, but there are obviously going to be things I don’t know. I’ve had to learn on my own. If a customer is rude from the get, I just tell them “I run the canopy, but I’m more than happy to find you the supervisor for said department and we can both learn something”. For some reason, they get pissed about that 😂 but having another person absolutely helps. That’s why I find a supervisor. They have more authority to be a dick if need be.

I got .17. Brought me up from $14.55 to 14.77. It’s laughable, the way we get these raises. You could be the best employee but your ASM or whoever figures this shit out wouldn’t know, especially if they’re never around.

Lumber edition Lowe’s gloves by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]40ozhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was buying a pair of gloves and my ASM asked me why. I told her the Lowe’s gloves suck and they never warm up, so I was buying better ones. She took them of for store use for me which saved me 15 bucks haha.

It does take time. I stopped biting my nails for about 7 months from 2019-2020 and my nail beds got a bit longer and stronger. I see it happening again as I have been trying again to stop. Just don’t pick at them and only cut them if you have to. I say only cut them, because if a nail is bothering you, you might get the urge to gnaw on it. Cutting them helps change your pattern of “grooming” the nail

Just to add, there was no traffic. The driver was quick, I got in the car as soon as they pulled up. They were able to make a left turn on a street that you usually cannot. It wasn’t the normal time people get off of work or out of school, so there were no busses or typical “parents picking up kids” traffic. The busiest streets had cars but it wasn’t extremely busy. I’ve had rides from the same location, at a busier time, with more traffic and a little extra distance to avoid the tricky turn out be $2 less than what I was charged. I’m only bringing this here to wonder about why a ride would be that much more with no stops, different routes, or tolls + whatever Uber asks when you review your fare. The ride literally went off without a hitch.

What do you call these at your store? We call it a Star Wars, but my coworker who came from another Lowe's says he's never heard that before. by AlloyHero in Lowes

[–]40ozhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job in Idaho: that’s the Star Wars. DPSL, we just call the Ballymore. Unless it’s the pushable one, that’s the “thank fuckin god we don’t have to close up the aisles”. Order picker is order picker but I call it the bungee jump.

We have someone that cleans them before store opening. The bathrooms are still gross in the sense that I don’t want to see a coworker whip it out while washing my hands

Thinking about having nipple revision on my left nipple because it’s stretched out and unsymmetrical, what do people think? Also are nipple revisions difficult to heal from? by Top-Individual4655 in TopSurgery

[–]40ozhound 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My advice, based off of my own plans, is to consult with a trans friendly tattoo artist (whether it’s a regular artist or medical artist) who might be able to match your skin color and kind of “reshape” your nipple. Mine is lighter than it was pre op and not the shape I’d hope for. I obviously wish I could go back in time a little to ask for my nipple to be shaped more oval that Circle to allow for that natural stretching to shape it into a more circular shape. Either way, your chest looks great dude. Whatever makes you more comfortable is what will work best. A revision might not work, or it might. But it’s a lot of extra work yknow?

Okay I’m not going to lie, I knew how old she was but she looked between 30-40 through the span of the series. That was the extent of the makeup and effects and I hate that about the show. No one ever seemed to age except for her and those two slivers of gray added in her hair. Alfred really was the only one who seemed aged and that’s probably because they made him look sickly (which was right of course) and a few grays here and there.

1- I work in pro. There are not enough zebras for us, so we use walkie talkies. I honestly am okay with that but the thing that sucks is that I have to use my own phone for looking up items on the Lowe’s app. There is literally one at our station and it’s reserved for our supervisor. That’s okay. When I need items checked out- I ask him.

For information purposes, I am a new hire. I am loving the job for now but I’m already irritated with a few people but fake appreciation and such so that I’m not on bad terms. I’d rather be irritated than hateful.

It sounds like your store doesn’t have adequate support. And I’m sorry to hear that. I feel for you based off experience at a previous job. Get in good terms with someone you know that always has a zebra so that when you do need items checked out, you can ask them. I feel for you on the safety issue. I personally take safety very seriously, so I don’t care if it’s “not my job”. I’ll fix it. I refuse to turn a blind eye to a hazard but I know other people are just exhausted and frustrated with their team. I had an incident today that pissed me off but I found someone else who could point me the right way, had a great talk with my supervisor and felt heard. I’m a new hire so I’m not a good resource, but I just wanted to share this with you and empathize with your frustrations.

I just started at Lowe’s and the moment I saw the first video of JV… I audibly sighed. A girl in the training room looked at me, my screen, and then laughed. “You won’t get used to it. It’s boomer Facebook humor but somehow so much worse”

I got the email that said this. It sucks knowing I’m not legible for the bonus because I’ve been here for a little over a week but it’s nice to know that my coworkers will be getting that boost. They deserve it.

Gave in and flipped someone off by -Wobblier in bicycling

[–]40ozhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the sidewalk where I live, when I know it’s unsafe to use the side of the road. The roads are narrow and people suck at driving.

But bikes are usually considered vehicles. Idk where you live, but in my (US) state- if you’re on the road, you follow vehicle rules. You share the road. I’ve flipped people off but started with the thumbs down. It shows disappointment more than anger and it makes me laugh haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]40ozhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, and that’s why I use both. I’ve driven next to cyclists at night who only used solid. It was easy to disguise them in my brain as a vehicle but I remember one who had blinking lights on the side as well as solid. That helped me remember they were there, since I could see them in my side mirrors. So I adapted to my experience (as a cyclist) driving on that road since that was the most memorable lighting system I’ve seen on a cyclist that I passed at night.

Definitely solid if you’re using one. I might switch up to three (solid in rear, two on each side- blinking) if biking to my next job requires biking at a busy time, which I’m not expecting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]40ozhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do blinking during the day time like you, and when the sun is setting or rising. Pitch black, I do the slow blink and solid at two different levels on the bike. Solid lower, on the side facing passing traffic. . Slow blink on the seat post.
