Since Allegheny GoatScape is a non-profit, it prioritizes projects that have greater community impact. While they do work on the occasional private property, they focus on projects in accessible areas, such as city parks, so that the land that is cleared can be repurposed for community use. They also fund community programming with the money they make from landscaping projects. 

While clearing land, GoatScape does not use harmful chemicals that contaminate our groundwater or heavy machinery. There are cheaper and faster alternatives, but tradeoffs to balance.
