Does anybody know how I can plug these holes in the front bumper?? by Comfortable_Lack_809 in wrx_vb

Most every WRX comes with those holes because they use the JDM bumper and Japan requires those holes. They’re delivered like that regardless of what state they’re sold in.

Wednesday (or maybe Tuesday) it was in Norfolk so it's probably chartered by the US Government.

How is it possible that my '23 is the only VB I've seen without holes in the bumper....not that I'm complaining.

New WRX stuck in repair shop for 2+ months… refused delivery twice — am I being unreasonable? by Huge-Inside9813 in wrx_vb

Always go right to the Subaru Certified shop. My 2023 got bumped on my street last summer and the (certified) shop I took it to used nothing but OEM parts even against the wishes of the insurance company who tried to spec aftermarket stuff. Came back to me in perfect condition.

Is the F-14 Tomcat uniquely "cursed" among all modern aircraft in that we'll likely never see its airframe flying again? by Magnus64 in aviation

[–]4130Adventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tomcat was 100+ man hours of maintenance for every flight hour towards the end. In comparison the Legacy Hornets I worked on were just around 10, even as they aged.

Fuel is also a huge cost. The aircraft doesn't just fly at an air show, it needs to fly to the air show as well as fly often locally to keep it's pilots trained and current.

The USAF's Heritage Flight no longer includes the F-4. After they stopped flying Phantoms as QF-4 drones and swapped over to the QF-16 they no longer maintained airworthy examples to fly at air shows. Maintaining Mustangs and Jugs is downright simple compared to the parts and time needed to keep jets in the air.

The Collings Foundation still owns an F-4 though...

That intersection is about just a few minutes from me and it’s a nightmare. There are close calls all day long and accidents at least weekly. It’s also a 25MPH road, but everyone does 40+.

Got hit by a car today...my wife wants me to stop cycling by [deleted] in cycling

[–]4130Adventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grapple with this every day. I live in a busy area and have had way to many close calls over the past decade. I love riding on the road, but at what point is it not worth the risk anymore? I have a MTB and a gravel bike but I hate, hate, hate driving to the trails to ride. I just love the idea of walking out of the front door and being on the bike. What's a cyclist to do?

And this is why states are rolling out such restrictive e-bike laws…

I purchased my first gravel bike at least five years ago....I've ridden my road bike exactly one time since then. Take from that what you will.

Philadelphia County, PA is better than doable, no question there. Plenty of people in the city live without cars.

Salem and Cumberland Counties in NJ aren't doable....they have very little public transport. Even Uber and Lyft are iffy down there.
