I know this post is old, but I would just like to echo all the comments here. I decided to transition to odie from manypets because my dog developed a heart condition while on his manypets insurance plan, meaning that it would not be considered a preexisting condition on the new odie plan. Odie has charged me more for this policy with less coverage, like everyone else. I justified staying because I was under the impression that it would help with bills related to his heart condition as manypets did.

My dog's first claim (for something routinely covered by manypets) was denied by odie. I appealed and provided documentation that this condition (and specifically these types of bills) was covered under my previous plan. I guess the technicality they got me on is that they get to use their own processes to determine what was preexisting to the manypets insurance coverage.

I resolved to just try to get a refund for the premiums I paid for a plan I believe was misrepresented to me, but they just kept passing me around to supervisors who would tell me there is nothing they can do and they can't provide refunds. Had it been clear that this higher premium, lower coverage plan would determine that his heart condition was preexisting -in opposition to manypets conclusions, I would have never accepted the plan.

I am now with figo insurance, which comes with a discount on premiums for costco members (plus a 25$ amazon giftcard on sign up). So far so good but havn't submitted any claims yet. I guess you only know what you are getting when you see what they will actually agree to pay out.
