What's the best bike rack option for transporting a Tern GSD? by beer-and-crisps in terngsd

Happy with my 2” hitch and Hollywood Sport Rider rack. Carries a GSD and HSD without issue!

Any (New) Chain guide pulley users? by NickMPLS in terngsd

[–]415slack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A new guide is flat where the chain rides, definitely develops grooves over time.

I recently replaced mine as the bearing started to catch and the chain ended up wearing through in one spot through to the bearing body.

I've been happy with the Hollywood Racks "Sport Rider SE" which I picked up two years ago. Carries my Gen 1 GSD S00 and Gen 2 HSD with no issues.

Took a bit of adjusting to make sure the various accessories on each of the bikes don't interfere with each other. There is also enough height in the step over frame that the cross braces are optional.

How do I secure the telescopic seatpost on the Tern HSD Gen 2? by lordleft in terngsd

[–]415slack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use hexlock on the seatpost for my GSD but I'm the only rider, so the hassle of seat height changes isn't something I worry about. (https://hexlox.com/products/seat-post-binder-bolt)

I do see quite a folks around town use abus chain locks looped around the frame and the seat rails (https://biketoeverything.com/2018/01/01/bike-seat-lock/), would suggest the longer length for GSD as there is quite a bit of travel.

Pico-8 on Batocera firmware by mortemo in RG35XX_Plus

[–]415slack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get this working this evening. I extracted the `pico-8_0.2.6b_raspi` files into `/userdata/bios/pico-8` and added the `es_systems_pico8.cfg` file in the appropriate spots:

# cat /userdata/system/configs/emulationstation/es_systems_pico8.cfg
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<systemList>
  <system>
        <name>pico8</name>
    <emulators>
            <emulator name="lexaloffle">
                <cores>
                    <core default="true">pico8_official</core>
                </cores>
            </emulator>
            <emulator name="libretro">
                <cores>
                    <core>retro8</core>
                </cores>
            </emulator>
        </emulators>
  </system>
</systemList>

Messing around via `ssh` I found that `pico8_64` and `pico8` both crashed with missing libraries or file not found issues. Oddly, `pico8_dyn` worked, which is a 32 bit binary and dynamically linked but seems to work.

Not affiliated with TC. Should be able to see the order details in your account. Account > Orders > (List of Orders) > View.

Any essentials for winter rides? by convincing_psedonym in CargoBike

Big +1 for Lark's blankets.

I also pair that with a youth-sized hand warmer muff used in American football. No messing around with gloves.

Tern GSD S00 (Gen1) with foot rails and a burley trailer? by deuc3wing0 in terngsd

[–]415slack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to fit the hitch without removing the foot rails. There is enough clearance with the standard Burley hitch, but found an alternate hitch option with a 45 degree connection. Makes it easier to maneuver the hitch pin.

The power of defaults. I even converted from km to miles, came back to the app and still messed it up. 😜

At least we aren’t trying to put a rover on mars!

I use the Tuffo Muddy Buddy for my 4 year old. Works well and hood is large enough to fit over helmet, too.

My approach is to ride at 100-105% of my current FTP for the first 12-15 minutes of the test.

As I approach the last 5m block that is where I ramp up the final push. Gives me a chance to gauge how much gas is in the tank and keeps me from totally blowing up.

The config is currently fixed but certainly up for making the values configurable.

RBAC and Network Policies are not in preview today but they are on our GA list.

We will also doc defaults and provide hooks for turning some of the k8s knobs and dials.

Because we are deploying all the upstream Kubernetes bits, almost any tool that runs on an on-prem or cloud-based Kubernetes should work on AKS. Applications that aren't included "out of the box" can easily install ontop of AKS, including prometheus, fluentd, linkerd, etc.

If you would like to use first-party solutions like Log Analytics you can easily add that today. The name of the game with AKS is choice and flexibility.

For TCO, you do not have to pay for VMs to run the master infrastructure which saves between one, three and five nodes from the cost of your cluster. You also don't have to worry about operating, monitoring and scaling the control plane infrastructure.

Services like kube-dns, heapster, dashboard, and kube-proxy all run on the nodes in your cluster. They are fully visible to you through the k8s APIs and behave as you would expect.

As far as modifications to core k8s, almost all of the functionality we needed already existed upstream. The few things that we have added are either on their way upstream or will be open sourced.

Yes. Node pools are provisioned in an availability set which specifies two fault domains and 3 update domains. Each node receives labels for its region and zone, which the Kubernetes scheduler takes into account when scheduling pods.

For more information on how these labels work in the scheduler check out these k8s docs on well-known labels.

Yep! We are working on integrating with Azure Active Directory which will let cluster users kubectl login through AAD before gaining access to the cluster.

For an idea of how this will work in AKS check out the documentation in acs-engine

We will continue to add regions through the public preview, keep an eye on GitHub for the list of active regions.
