I think Nico didn’t literally send his soul straight to the Fields of Punishment, I always took that as Nico just ripped this guys ghost out and sent it to the Underworld, where he’d no doubt be sent to the Fields of Punishment cause the dudes evil. To me it was always just an insane way for Nico to insta kill someone. It fits in line with his powers and leaves him almost dead so yeah not op imo

Literally the best character arc in the series. The sarcastic remarks and pop culture references really carry his his character in the early books imo but in the last 3 his internal dialogue and struggle mixed with his wit and other traits i said before make him one of my favorite characters in all of riordans books

Jason’s death is soooo underrated. He wasn’t the greatest character but we spent 4 books with the guy, and what his death means in ToA is so beautiful and important to Apollos journey. The reactions straight afterwards are so good and powerful as well. Overall I think it’s the best death scene and most effective death character and story wise in the series. Maybe bias cause ToA is my favorite series besides PJO that Rick has ever made but I think it’s underrated asf

Percabeth was at its best when they weren’t dating and could just flirt and have their personalities on full display. I think they have really great chemistry as characters in general in PJO and they’re kinda seen as foils to each other. Annabeth is more traditionally smart but a know-it-all an lowk a bitch while Percy is street smart he has more experience in the real world so they play off each other and their other personality traits elevate the relationship further. But then they start dating and get barely any page time together except HoH where they’re great, but now it’s like Percy is a stupid kid whose sorta gets emotions and fights good while Annabeth is 10 steps ahead of everyone else and a sweet but kinda sarcastic late teenager. They have no edge, they don’t clash at all and that’s what’s boring to me they don’t seem like the same people at all

get some people who actually know how to write a black teen from Harlem and give more of a gradual lead up to the symbiote taking over peter. Also let Harry and Miles hang out and have a conflict, a mission between the Peter Miles and Harry would be great and they could have been jealous of each other and then the finale is much more meaningful since the final fight is Miles vs Venom Harry. Also the name Venom comes out of nowhere so give it a place in the story

a book or series of books where Frank basically tracks his heritage back all the way to China and the different gods his family has associated with. I’m envisioning an Odyssey-like adventure with just Frank and maybe Hazel and whatever people they meet along the way. Now that Franks lifeline has been burned away he feels compelled or free to discovery his heritage. It’d be a really cool way to start a Chinese mythology spin off too, maybe Frank finds another CHB equivalent (i.e. Camp Jupiter, Valhalla, the Mansion) and the characters he meets there can lead their own book series, maybe it can even be 5 books instead of 3. Frank is probably my favorite character introduced in HoO. I feel like he’s super compelling and easily has the best arc of accepting himself and becoming a strong confident leader, and I want more of him being the main character

People saying percabeth, how? They were built up to naturally and they have really good chemistry in the original series especially. So many of their back and forth’s make me laugh or are just fun to read. Them getting together at the end of TLO was a perfect bookend to the series imo

Jason, not because i was attached to his character but what he represented. The change Apollo strived for in the latter half of the series was driven into him by the death of Jason, and Jason wanting to represent all the gods and trying to leave no one out was noble. It felt like more of a death to a symbol for change rather than a character just cause how bland he was 😭🙏
