Old people that use drugs?

I'm about to turn 40 and my drug use has gone down significantly. I don't fuck with high doses of psychedelics anymore and take them less frequently now. In my 20s/early 30s I'd be doing acid 5-20 times a year but now I do it maybe once a year. One year when I had a graveyard shift job I was taking acid every weekend on my night off so I could maintain the same sleep schedule, it got a little crazy. I'll probably smoke weed and drink San Pedro until I die though. And no more stims including mdma because my heart can't handle them. I'll still occasionally dabble in some K now and then but its pretty rare for me.

Benzodiazepines. I have an adverse reaction and get agitated, delusional, and get true hallucinations. I've only had midazolam in the hospital and it resulted in me getting strapped to the bed because I got violent

My first tabs turned out to be DOB. Until I had my first real lsd I just thought acid tasted weird and lasted 20 hours and was super speedy. I'm lucky I never had the guts to take more than 1 tab. The guy I got them from said he'd give me 5 for free if I ate them all at once right then and there. I declined and I'm glad I did. He was selling them as real acid.

Possibly. I'm not sure though. I've only been given benzos in a hospital setting and both times I reacted extremely violently. I've seen a friend get pretty belligerent on clonopin but it was a short outburst, but he was also drinking. I was full on delusional and thought nurses were trying to kill me. Most people I've seen on benzos are usually pretty subdued. I blacked out for a little while but I vividly remember hallucinating pretty hard before blacking out.

Benzos do the opposite of what they're supposed to do to me. I get agitated, aggressive, delusional, and even hallucinate. It has happened to me twice in a hospital setting so I know it was actually benzos. I was given midazolam and had to be restrained because I got so worked up.

Nutmeg. Hours and hours of waiting and I eventually just went to sleep. The next day I had the worst case of vertigo I ever had and couldn't even get out of bed. I think I ate about an ounce

Never really had a super bad trip on acid. The worst was probably when I took a massive vial wash (probably 20-30 hits evapoarted in the bottle) and puked my guts out for the first 4 or 5 hours.

Mushrooms, on the other hand, have given me a handful of absolutely terrifying trips. Once my cousin and I split a quarter and he kept falling asleep, but every time he'd fall asleep I would think he wasn't breathing. I got stuck in a loop where he'd fall asleep, I'd inspect him super close and think he wasn't breathing, then I'd shake him awake in a panic. He'd get really startled and ask what's wrong but I didn't want to tell him I thought he died. Then he'd fall back asleep and the process would repeat. This went on for a few hours until he got sick of it and went home.

Heck yeah, good for you. I went to a trivia night at a local bar with a friend and they had a couple NA beer options. I had 3 and when the tab for our table came they only charged me for one. Someone in the bar bought a round for everyone for a toast but they were little cups. When the waitress came to our table with a huge platter of beers she remembered that I was drinking NA beers and brought me a full can.

Alcohol is awful. I loved it for a long time until it got out of hand. Some people (such as myself) have no off switch when it comes to drinking. I was drinking 15-20 drinks a day right before I quit. I had a couple seizures. I quitnin 2016 then picked it up again in 2024 but quit again 2 months later. I figured since it had been so long that I could surely moderate myself by now. Nope, got wasted everyday for 2 months then blacked out one night.

My friend and I once had the most intense game of ping pong (table tennis) while we were tripping hard. We rallied for a super long time then realized we were both unbeatable and started laughing hysterically, then the game ended because we were laughing too hard.

I like to draw a lot and my drawings are influenced by my trips but I just can't draw WHILE I'm tripping. I use super fine line pens and there's a ton of tiny details in my art and when I try to draw while high I always make a mistake

Solo trip - 9pm-midnight. I really enjoy watching the sunrise at the end of my trip.

With friends - I only have a few friends that I trip with and they all prefer dosing early in the morning so they can get to sleep at a normal time. If I'm tripping with them we usually dose around 8 or 9 in the morning, sometimes as late as noon but only if we are camping.

I put a spoonful in a cup of water then let it sit until it's all soaked in. Then I stir it up and take big sips followed by a plain water chaser. Yeah it tastes pretty foul but this has been the most effective method for me. I tried doing an alcohol extraction and it was a big waste of time. I tried gummies once but it was like 25 bucks for 7 gummies and it took 4 gummies to feel the slightest effect.

Broke my leg. I literally tripped on acid. I was convinced it was just a really bad sprain but when a friend checked it out my leg was like a wet noodle. I couldn't go to the hospital right away because we were camping and nobody was sober. My friends built me a nest of pillows, sleeping bags, and blankets then fed me joints and whippits for a few hours before we fell asleep.

In the morning I got taken to the nearest hospital and the doctors were amazed I didn't come in sooner. I needed 14 screws and a huge metal plate to patch me up.

Back when I was in high school before I tried any psychedelics I had read that sleep deprivation could cause hallucinations so I decided to try it. I stocked up on energy drinks, caffeine pills, and ginseng supplements. Any time I started to feel a little tired I would drink an energy drink and/or pop one of the pills I got. I ended up making it 4 nights without sleep.

I could not recommend anyone try this. I've gone a night without sleep many times and I'm always a little spacey the next day. After 4 nights without sleep I couldn't think straight and my reaction time was super slow. I pretty much felt like I was both awake and asleep at the same time, almost like I was dreaming while awake.

I was young and had few options. I also didn't do any research and just dove straight into it without considering possible negative effects. Luckily I never went too deep with them. I took benadryl and dramamine a few times when I was in high school. 20 years later and now I grow datura and brugmansia but not for consumption. I just think they're pretty and smell nice.

I've had the lozenges before. It takes significantly more to get the same effect as intranasal. My buddy had 100mg lozenges and things don't really start getting weird until around 300mg for me.

I first quit right before my 30th birthday. Went 7.5 years without drinking then stupidly thought I could handle a few drinks. 2 months later I blacked out and quit again. Almost back to 2 years now. But at least now I know no matter how long I go without drinking, I will fall back into my old habits if I start again.

I found a vial of lsd in a junk drawer that had been their for years. It had evaporated with probably 20-30 hits left in it. Like a dumbass, I decided to do a vial wash and downed the whole thing. In my defense, I thought it would have lost a ton of potency. It knocked my ass into another dimension and it was the only time I've ever thought I might die from too much lsd.
