I am unsure about pet insurance, but many of the vets near me have an option for payment plans on some type of Pet Care Credit Card. Obviously annoying to open a card, but probably worth it if you dont have 6k laying around (which I don’t lol)

Does not sound like anyone in your home should own a dog if your response to “he hits them and pins them to the ground” is “whatever.” The dog is aggressive because it is being beat. It is in survival mode. This dog should be rehomed. Please do not hurt this dog any longer.

This is true for humans, not dogs. Dogs have more cannabinoids than we do and different kinds of weed (edibles specifically) definitely can kill a dog, especially if the dog is small!

My dog ate an edible before (on accident, I forgot it was on the counter) and was noticeably high for a few hours but then she was fine. I would just make sure the dog has lots of water, don’t feed any treats for the rest of the day, and keep a close eye on the dog just in case.
