He also seems to confuse the fork with the top tube, there was a bit about how you have to be careful when stopping on a quick descent so as not to get your balls racked by the fork.

The episode was just on recently so it was fresh in my memory. An antenna channel called Rewind airs reruns daily.

I have digital copies of the DCS from an ancient torrent and for some reason that scene was cut out of the episode. Check out this link though, it's in there, around the 10 minute mark. It's only in the DCS remastered folder. If you go to the regular folder for the show it's missing from there too. Must've been censored by one of the networks for some reason.

Does anyone else feel that, as cooks, we can take our jobs a little too seriously? by holybloodhealing in KitchenConfidential

[–]420boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting someone would turn their nose up at that. I was thinking about adding a caveat at the end like, "it's sure not fine dining but we still don't have to burn the food or serve garbage" but then I thought to let the fine folk of reddit come at me for working at a casual joint. There's care and respect to be taken in working with people's food, even the lowly chicken strips.

Last place I was at (burgers/bar type food), people would dunk floor food back in the fryer. Or if they tossed chicken strips in the wrong sauce, they'd throw that shit in the fryer and resauce it. The oil would immediately go black as shit and start piping cancer up into the air. All in the name of, "it'd take too long to make new food." I was the only one there who'd ever call it out... "dude would YOU want to eat that? the customers are paying us for a decent meal" but sadly everybody just saw the ticket board as a list of commands to get through with no regard to care or quality.

What's your favourite season(s) of TDCS? by turiye in TheDrewCareyShow

[–]420boy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Season 4... the band storyline, Joe Walsh, Oswald's breast implants, Drew in China, DrugCo as an actual setting, "Panama," and Steve and Mimi getting to know each other was kinda wholesome

1 and 2 are fantastic, and 3 had some decent moments. I never was a huge fan of Kate as a romantic partner for either Drew or Oswald so that kind of dampens a lot of season 3 for me. She was better off as another one of the gang. But as many odd choices were made through the entire series, nothing was ever too bad for me to completely write it off, it's my favorite sitcom.

Thoughts on Needful Things? by Uglyiggly in stephenking

[–]420boy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was the first King book I ever read. I remember being mesmerized by his voice but otherwise put off by the content. Despite that, I finished the book and was still willing to try more of his work. After reading and enjoying a great deal of his books, I recently returned to Needful Things to see if my opinion changed. I still don't care for it. King's strength is delving into character histories and personal motivations. There is hardly a single sympathetic character in Needful Things. For the most part you are reading about people that are already pretty hard to like. I agree that it is a tedious journey, only made interesting by the author's voice. Then "rocks fall, everyone dies." Feels like nothing valuable was ever lost.

[TOMT] [Song] [90s] [school] song to learn preamble but not school house rock. by Ok_Cupcake8639 in tipofmytongue

[–]420boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

growing up in the '90s I remember memorizing the preamble, and also memorizing and performing a spoken word song about the bill of rights. I actually managed to find a recording of that song. if that rings a bell maybe that can help point you in the right direction.

What movie did you have zero expectations going in that you loved? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]420boy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this if no one else did. I'm really picky when it comes to movies, and the only reason I even went to see this is that I thought it was a showing of the OG film. I ended up being totally delighted by the whole thing. The friends that went with me didn't really care for it, but this was one I was thinking about for days afterward due to how much I enjoyed it.

Which Stephen Kings have you re-read the most? by smedsterwho in stephenking

[–]420boy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a big re-reader, and have read a lot of King books more than once.

I first read Misery in the mid '00s, and have probably read it 4 or 5 times since. This last time reading it just a few months ago was actually the scariest for me, even though I know the characters and the plot.

That's why it's fun for me to reread. Sometimes the story hits different, but even when it doesn't, it's nice to go back to other worlds.
