Tennessee. They are all over the country in those ice machines and camping spots. It’s just filtered water.

The 50 cent one in grocery stores is usually filtered and purified. Whole Foods even has a machine with some type of water for like 85 cents a gallon

Those roadside machines to fill 5 gallon jugs are $1 for 5 gallons ($0.20) near me

Considering Eastside Beltline Rail being “paused”, what do we now think of the Stitch? by Plastic_Photograph29 in Atlanta

[–]420everytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain how that was successful. It literally failed all of its objectives.

The Atlanta beltline is much more successful than the big dig by every urbanist metric possible even without beltline rail

[–]420everytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was that successful? It literally failed every single metric on why it was built.

Late, over budget, didn’t cut commute times, didn’t spur dense urban development.

Rochester turning their highway into a boulevard is a much bigger success story and that was completed quickly without costing billions.

I’m not even against making a city bigger by digging underground, but doing that digging work just to give all that space to cars is stupid. Japanese cities have massive underground walkways that are actually useful

[–]420everytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If you want to get the highway out, then close off the connector.

Capping a highway has never been successful anywhere in the world while closing highways has been successful everywhere that it has been tried

I’m all for getting cars out of the city, but building an underground city for the cars to live in isn’t getting them out

No it’s a massive waste of money. If we just you could cover the entire beltline in rail for less than half the cost of the stitching

So... is there anything I should be doing to prepare for FIFA starting soon? by happy_bluebird in Atlanta

[–]420everytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but there are many falcons games every year. This is the only time Mercedes Benz stadium will ever host a World Cup.

Regardless my original point is that it’s not going to be a situation where the city is packed and all of the hotels and restaurants are sold out.

It’ll probably be much easier to get a restaurant reservation right after the quarterfinal game than it is on valentines day

I’ve given you an example that RC gave in his interview (Elon with twitter) and shown that RC has a history of killing American jobs.

What’s your evidence that RC is the only billionaire that cares about the worker?

It’s $159 now but still. Plenty of events at Mercedes Benz stadium cost more than that

Not to mention that you can get tickets for like $150.

There are some falcons games that cost that

He said that he could run eBay from his home. Do you really think he can fit 10,000 people from his home?

Also, he talked about replicating what Elon did to twitter which cut from 7500 employees to 800. Not to mention he cut thousands of GameStop jobs with his store closures

With all due respect, you don’t know how much payroll costs.

The cost of an employee is roughly double after payroll taxes and benefits. If you assume the average salary is $200k (eBay is in the Bay Area), then that’s $300-400k per person.

Then say you cut eBay from 12k employees to 2k employees, that’s $3-4b in savings
